Fingers crossed Elfman comes along for the ride. My guess might be this one goes to James Newton Howard, who has scored a few pics for Hanks/Gary Goetzman.

I think Elfman’s already on it. His frequent music editor and his regular score mixer are working on it and he scored Ponsoldt’s last movie.

I think The End of the Tour is an incredible movie and hope the collaboration continues.

I doubt that, but I would LOVE to see him go all-electronic again — like the Tangerine Dream-like main theme he wrote for WISDOM back in ’86.

I know it’s not going to be an entirely electronic score – there was an orchestra session. But having read the book I cannot imagine the score not being predominantly electronic – perhaps a hybrid like Fifty Shades. We’ll see.
