GuestThe new stop-motion movie “The Corpse Bride” is going to start production sometime soon. The film is going to be produced but not directed by Tim Burton, just like “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Could this movie be a musical, and if it is, would songs be written by Danny Elfman, as well as the score?

GuestThis is what I found. Interesting to note that it is written by Carolyn Thompson. and it is rumored that danny would score the film.

GuestIf it is a musical and if production is about to start, wouldn’t Danny have already written the songs. Given that they would have to animate to something during the musical selections – just an observation.

GuestAccording to that article, Burton’s going to work with Selick again? I hated James and the Giant Peach.

GuestI’m not the only one that felt James and the Giant Peach was a travesty??? Amazing!
It’s one of my favorite children’s books, and they RUINED it! I plan to remake it at such time that someone gives me a few million dollars to make a movie.

GuestI’m personally hoping that this movie isn’t for kids.
As much as I love The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I don’t have a problem with James and the Giant Peach, I think Burton and Selick should move away of the family audience.
I’d like to see more mainstream animation geared towards adults. It would make a lot of movies a lot more interesting.

“Mainstream animation geared towards adults” doesn’t mean it will make it better. It sure didn’t have a good effect on the Ren and Stimpy show. The early episodes were made primarily for kids, but they are better than the ones they make now that are made for adults.

GuestIt’s about finding that middle ground…. something that can apply to all ages. That’s where all the money is.

GuestDantz, I agree with you on that, the new Ren & Stimpy does suck.

GuestGive me the Ren and Stimpy they had when I was in junior high, and I”ll be an unbelievably happy person!

GuestWell…the Simpsons and all those other prime time cartoons on Fox are geared more towards adults and look how well they do….
