Judging by the responses to my last topic “A small world?”, should I be correct in assuming that the Elfman fandom is very spread out? Comments?

One more thing. As some of you may or may not already know, I’m still working on my transcription of the Spider-man Main Titles and Farewell. Feel free to post suggestions in general you may have for me on this, but I have one thing I’d like your opinion on in particular. When it comes time for this to be performed (by the Indiana University Southeast orchestra), I think I can say that, with 99.9% certainty, I will know this piece backwards and forwards better than any other person within 100 miles or so (unless Elfman himself happens to be in the area at the time). I’ve listened to the Main Titles countless times. So my question is: do you think the conductor should give me THE say on what is done with the piece as far as its rehearsal and performance? (By the way, it has been confirmed that it will indeed be rehearsed and performed after I’m finished.) I think I should, but I just want to know what everyone else thinks.

Man, you must go absolutely crazy going over those songs over and over again … but I know how you feel. I’ve done it countless times. :)

I think you’d be surprised at how many Elfman fans there are. Not major fans, like us, but people who like his music. For example, this kid I sit next to in class likes his music, but I had to tell him who his name was. Now he knows. ;)

I think the main reason most of us never run into Danny fans in “real” life, is because not too many people go up to random strangers and start asking what kinda music they listen to and all.

I mean, it’s not like I go around shouting “Danny Elfman!” in the hopes that at some point in time someone’ll turn around and say, “Ah, I know him.” It just doesn’t happen. And, this site–it’s a given. Figure if cities and towns and such had a place where you knew you could go to meet up with other fans of Danny–well then, you could.

I mean, the only times I’ve ever met anyone (that I know of) who likes Danny (or Tim) is when they remark about something I’ve got. Usually it’s either a watch or a t-shirt or a jacket that has BeetleJuice or Batman or Jack Skellington on it. But if that person didn’t remark about what I was wearing (or if I wasn’t wearing said objects), I’d never know.

So, you have to think about how often instances like that happen. Who knows? We could all be surrounded by Danny fans all the time, and never even know it.

That’s very true, Evil Dead. In fact, I am great friends with someone who I first met wearing a Nightmare Beforce Christmas T-Shirt. And I don’t think the Elfman Kingdom is sparse, I think it’s widespread. Many people like Danny (whether they lknow it or not) and some are just diehard fans (like people who post pointless drivel on forums about Elfman) :-)

*grins and raises a hand* I plead guilty.
