GuestI **always** rent a kids movie every time I go to Blockbuster (which is very, very often) and this time around I rented The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad. Before this, there was a trailer for The Great Mouse Detective . . . with some music that sounded like a serious Nightmare Before Christmas ripoff.
I know these kinds of things happen all the time (I also rented It, and before that there was a thing that had music that sounded like a major ripoff of The Land Race from Far and Away), but I was kind of curious as to whether this was the actual score from the movie (it seemed similar in spirit to the songs they played from the movie) or whether it was just some cheap crap they threw in there.
Of course . . . I always could rent that movie on my next Blockbuster visit . . .

GuestIf I’m not mistaken, The Great Mouse Detective was made before NBC. Heh. I haven’t thought about that movie for a looooong time. It was one of my favorites. I remember it being really great. But the perception of a 5 year old is much different than that of a 16 year old.

Guestis that the disney malarkey? “Basil on the case!” and all that. Actually probably not as the only music i remember from that is the “goodbye so soon…”song.
