Well, I saw the Hulk yesterday. All I can say is, well, the music was just great! Danny Elfman rules all! Yup. And that’s all I have to say about the hulk.

Anyway, let me just say that something is wrong with my computer. And I didn’t see that there was a topic already posted on this subject.

AGAIN, THIS HAS SPOILERS. HAVEN’T SEEN? SCROLL DOWN!!

    Ahem. Where was I?

Alright, I think The Hulk is a very good movie and a good attempt at injecting the superhero flick with some points to think about. It’s certainly the most serious-minded while, at the same time, the most adherent to the hyperkinetics of comic book storytelling (via the split screens).

That said, the audience was expecting a lot of mindless slam-bang and when they were called to think a little, you could hear them getting cold. I guarantee that I was a minority who actually liked it.

As for Elfman’s score? I’m surprised and impressed. Although I liked the Spiderman score, I thought the big themes mirrored the Batman score a bit. From the opening to the end, The Hulk is its own sound and I think it’s a high point for Mr. E. I especially liked the female vocals that, in its way, acted as the ghost of Banner’s dead mother, always there in spirit and always distant, unable to protect her baby.

    Good stuff.

At some points in the movie I was somewhat reminded of his music for Proof of Life.

“when they were called to think a little, you could hear them getting cold.”

I just saw it tonight… and could actually hear people in the audience SNORING throughout much of the film. Chee, was it that boring, or is a 7pm showtime just that late?? (just for the record: I quite liked the movie.)

It was not. However, movie theaters are a good place to snack heavily and take a cat nap, all for around just 15 dollars.

I loved the movie. But I was pissed because there were some teenagers sitting behind me talking through the whole thing, making stupid comments, I guess because they were bored. So about 45 minutes into it I had to turn around and ask them to shut the hell up. The rest of the movie was much more enjoyable after that.
