GuestAdmittedly (instead of Big Fish), I should have posted this topic first.
I actually dreamed that I heard Elfman’s music in a new Hulk trailer.
I’m thinking the Hulk (character) will share two themes. One will have kind of a monster motif and his alter-ego having a more dramatic motif, sort of a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde feel.

GuestYES! Thank you for not posting a “and I think it will be a mix of Spider-man, Batman, and Darkman” post, I hate it when people do that. Remember, Elfman is a totally awesome composer, and he CAN come up with new music. I won’t say what I think the score will be like because 1) I have not read the script and 2) if I did it would be what I thought the music should be, and not what Elfman will do.
Knight (I wonder if Elfman is gonna totally change his style again, his last few films have sounded that way)

GuestIf he does anything like the “lonely man” theme, I’ll be in heaven.

GuestI think Universal needs to cut a new HULK trailer. The current one, with the generic rock music, is lame-o.

GuestI hear his 50’s 60’s mad scientist score like tranformations and specter of the Goblin from Spider Man, when I saw the trailer after all the hulk came out durring the nuclear fases of the 50’s via Mattane (Jerry Goldsmith) 1992

GuestThe music in the international trailer isn’t Elfman.
But after seeing it, I am more interested in seeing the movie. I don’t really care for superhero movies (besides the first two Batmans), and I was just planning on seeing it for the music. But it looks like it’s going to be one of the better ones.
Even so, I hope this is a fad that dies out soon.

GuestI kinda like superhero movies…..except for daredevil.

GuestI didn’t think Daredevil was that bad. It was a lot better than Spider-Man, but actually suffered from many of the same faults: mainly, the love story sub-plot dragged out too long and forced the plot to stop dead in its tracks for poorly written emotional scenes.
I tend to compare every superhero movie to the Tim Burton Batman movies. In both, the love story sub-plots were infused well in the plot.
Graeme Revell’s score for Daredevil wasn’t great.

GuestI liked daredevil too and the score

GuestI didn’t, the main title sequence seemed like such a lost-opportunity to – I don’t know – include a melody.

GuestHeh. I actually started to compose a song based around the Hulk character today. I did the same thing with Spiderman, also … God, I’m such a NERD!!!!

GuestDaredevil was just a copy of spider-man except it was rushed and more poorly made.

GuestWell, I thought the music was…very poor….
Was there even a theme for Daredevil at all? There was so much music placement that it drove me nuts. And yes Mr. Dantz, you are a nerd, but this nerd wants to hear what you wrote anyhow

I composed this entirely on the piano because my keyboard’s not hooked up to the computer right now. I inserted the notes one by one into my sequencer afterwards. It’s not finished, and it came out differently than I thought it would initially. I need to get some good loud French Horns and Trombones in there somewhere. It’s just strings so far. Check it out.

GuestOh, and the mention of C, C#, D# in the other thread was rather odd because I used these same three notes (and fifths) for the beginning of my composition.

GuestWell, that whole post was bull about the screener, but I liked the piece man. Wanna hook me up with those string samples? hehe. With a little more orchestration I bet that thing would be awesome (french horns and trombones like you said, maybe a staccato tuba and some bass trombones too? just an idea…)
Knight (Psssst)
