Figured I’d start a thread on Elfman’s next classical work, which is due to premiere this fall.
I’ve been listening to Philip Glass’ work with them, and it’s really up my street.

Third Coast Percussion will livestream a performance of this next week.
Oh damn, I did not think of the timezone difference. I was planning to record it but oh well…
I hope they will publish it on their YouTube account.

So, Danny’s planning a solo album, with some very aggressive music !!!
He says he’s going to record this with his Coachella band.
I still feel kind of bad for the rest of the Boingo band. They’ve been doing their best to keep the Boingo spirit alive for the past 15 years. Steve Bartek still plays with them. And Danny kept saying he couldn’t do it because of his hearing loss. And now, he records an album with new material, goes back on stage at Coachella, but still chooses to ignore his ex-band, except for Steve who’s in the middle of all this, playing with Danny, but still performing with the Boingo former members.I don’t understand why he’s so opposed to bringing them back, specially when he plans to perform old Boingo songs.
I mean… It’s obvious it would please the fans, and I know Vatos, Phipps, Avila and the rest of the band would be more than HAPPY to do it.Yes, boingomusic, that is indeed bizarre. Lots of bands have internal strife and intrigue, but I always got the impression that Boingo was a well-knit group. I wonder why he’s keeping the other band members out of it? Perhaps things will change between now and when Coachella finally happens next year.
