As I sit at my little desk, in my little office, listening to an MP3 compilation of the Elfman scores I have (Batman, Nitemare, Apes, Spiderman and Darkend Theatre vol 2) (it’s great to have all this on noe disc that will go into my computer and play all day), all I can think of is MAN THIS GUY’S GREAT!!
Right now I am hearing the original demo of This Is Halloween, with Danny doing it all. I am in AWE.

    that’s all!!

There should be some sort of disclaimer not to boast listing to MP3’s of Elfman’s music. It’s basically the written-equivalent of stapling your testicles to the floor – if you’re a guy.

I rip CDs I paid for into MP3 all the time. It’s easier to listen to them on a portable player or computer in MP3 form instead of dealing with forty discs. Patt did say it’s Elfman scores he has. Give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

I think you mis-read. He compiles his favorite songs from his CDs on to one CD. MP3 is just a compression format used, so he can get more songs on CD. Or maybe I’M mis-reading. Either way, I don’t really give a sh*t if he downloads mp3s.

If someone buys a CD, I’m happy. Downloading music and then praising the artist is really shady business. I mean, if you love ’em so much, buy their freakin’ CDs. It’s just a sign of respect.

Exactly–support the artist financially. I just don’t think it’s right to get on Patt’s case when it’s quite possible he payed for his music.

I only ever download mp3’s if it’s an out of print CD, a severely limited edition or a CD that can only be found in some CD store all the way over in the United States, the United Kingdom or somewhere in Europe or Asia. That scenario is fine by me, but any other reason for downloading is intollerable in my point of view.

Okay, I thought of that as I was hitting post button, but felt justified in the fact that I had purchased the originals, and made a copy for work, much like taping records to listen to in the car. If you’re old like me, you’ll know what I mean.
I meant nothing more than to show my admiration of the man and his music.

Elfman….hmmm….wasn’t she in that show called somethin’ and Gred? Oh, wait…it’s a guy? Is it her husband? No? Ohhhhhh! It was that guy who started a cult in Idaho with all those people who had to walk around naked singing bad versions of Brittany Spears songs and then proceeded to make them all eat cheese until they died? No? Hmmmm…..what? Wrote film music? Who the **** cares about film music?!?!

“Hmmmm…..what? Wrote film music? Who the **** cares about film music?!?!”

Hhehe. This reminds me of when people ask me what kind of music I listen to. I answer them, and immediately afterwords they give me a strange look like, “Who the **** cares about film music?”
