Hi! I`m sorry for my very bad English! Please tell me! Whether used Danny Elfman in this new album various electronic tools or syntezators? Because I hate various electronic tools or syntezators!!! Recently Danny has changed the style and steel to write almost that electronic music! For example POTA or Red Dragon. I so hoped that this album will be similar on Darkman or Batman…… But most likely and it is written in new-Danny-Elfman-style… Whether So it??? Whether there will be it symphonic-electronic music? Answer that to me to wait. You see you already heard.

    Well well well…
I must say I’m a little lost here… I downloaded all the tracks, and love it all… But… I hate myself!!!! I miss those old days, when you could only get the cd after hearing the music in the movie itself… It was fantastic : You see the movie, you fall in love with the music, and you almost kill yourself wainting for the cd to be released…

This time, I had promised myself I would wait to see the film, before buying the cd, just to add some suspense, and here I am, listening to those stupid illegal OGG files, that are always welcome!!!!!! It’s like beeing tempted by the devil or something… GRRRRR. I hate that…

Anyway, now that it’s done, let’s talk about this HUGE surprise :

ORIENTAL MUSIC BY DANNY ELFMAN !!!!!

I guess he was the one and only big composer to never have done that. Thanks for the DUDUK, Danny… What I love with this guy, is that he knows how to use instruments, and ethnic stuff without doing too much. James Horner killed us all with his panpipes and bagpipes!!! When those composers choose a new mood, they put it EVERYWHERE in the film… Well, Danny did not do that… He just knows where to stop…

Well, my description of the album would be : Spiderman meets Red Dragon, Dark City, and some oriental people!!!

    Excellent!

Eric (who’s soooo excited about this music, but toooooo angry that he downloaded it… and who will buy the album anyway)

um the theme is a bit lame, u gotta admit, the buildup is nice but it doesnt really lead anywhere, I was hoping for a Batman-esque theme soaked w/ some POTA power, but all I can picture is Emilio Estevez and Demi Moore in 1986…

The Main Titles are much better in the movie (the flutes fall over the MARVEL logo and they work even better than in Spider-Man). You’ll see. Elfman plays off of the nuances and movement too.

Now, you say the main titles were lame. You can dismiss that quickly when listening to the rest of the score in comparison. The CD suprised me and turned out to be oriented more around the emotion and not ACTION. There was action, granted, but it didn’t overwhelm the score. I think that’s funny as hell because I remember some people complaining when it was first announced that Elfman was doing this that it would be an unfeeling, muscle score, just like Planet of the Apes.

Hell, this is a much more emotional scaore than The Family Man (well… Okay… maybe not that much, but still…). It’s great. I love it.

For those of you waiting… it’s woth it.

Too it is very a pity…….. A “Sleepy Hollow” there was last album of old-good-Danny-Elfman-style….. I hope the “Big Fish” will be classical Tim Burton`s film with classical Danny Elfman`s soundtrack (instead of as it was with РОТА) :(
Very much I hope that Elfman sometime will return to the old style. You see the popularity to him was brought by his only symphonic albums. It will be a pity if Elfman will lose the Gothic style and becomes one of many standard composers. Gothic electronic music is simply any nonsense. I am sure that this album is rather interesting but from Elfman I wait for completely other music… He the genius. But I do not understand what for to spoil perfect music by electronic tools? Yes Elfman gets the new fans….. But he loses old fans…. His music more begins to resemble on pop-music. It certainly makes him by more known. It makes his music by more popular….. :( me is very sick it to speak. Because I`am real Danny Elfman`s MANIAC. And what **** he has written I shall buy this disk. But I very much miss on times of “Black Beauty”, “Batman”, “Nightbreed”, “Darkman”, “Edward”, “Beetlejuice” etc…. ООООООООООООО as I have not enough similar albums…… :( But I shall hope… And I will wait.

I agree that Danny’s style has shifted since Sleepy Hollow (especially after Planet of The Apes). Big Fish may very well suprise us.

I was listening to Batman Returns and Big Top Pee-Wee the other day and I was just amazed at how much the orchestration differs from his newest scores (even THE HULK). I still like THE HULK but he certainly has changed.

Oh, what am I saying. I think all the man needs is inspiration and we’ll get our good old DAnny Back.

I think that what he writes is oviously straight from him, and it’s not some weird force that’s making him shift his style, it’s his style now. If you don’t like one of his styles, than in my opinion, you are not a true danny elfman fan. Just a fan of some of his many styles.
