GuestI just got Elliot Goldenthal’s score for Titus a few days ago and have been listening to it non-stop. It is possibly my favorite film score at the moment. I first discovered it, along with the rest of Goldenthal’s body of work on Ryan’s site at goldenthal.filmmusic.com.
Titus has a quite a few Elfman-esque moments (especially in the cue “Titus’ Vow”). One that I found particularly interesting was in the cue “Pickled Heads”, which starts out with hard rock then goes off into synthesized dissonance then goes into an odd bit that sounds kind of like Forbidden Zone.
I recommend Titus to all Elfman fans who are willing to broaden thier horizons to other composers.
The film, written and directed by Goldenthal’s wife Julie Taymor, is excellent too. I would like Shakespear a lot more if it was all like this.

GuestThank you thank you thank you!! I thought I was alone in this! I was gonna post a topic of how much I love the Titus score, but was kinda afraid since it had nothing to do with Elfman, really. Thanks for finding a way, and thank you for showing people the light!

GuestI was watching the Grinch a few weeks ago and some of the characters were singing and playing a song that sounded like a total ripoff of most of the songs from Forbidden Zone
