GuestIt came out either last year or the year before.
I have it, but it’s on VHS. So it must have been the year before, when owning VHS was still socially acceptable.

GuestThe special edition DVD was released October 3, 2000.
Definitely get it!! It also contains two of Burton’s early films, “Vincent” and “Frankenweenie.”July 1, 2003 at 6:13 am #45783Anonymous
GuestI saw 2 versions of it, one a “special” edition with a bunch of extra stuff but it was fullscreen (which I cannot handle on DVD) and one was “widescreen” edition but no extras. WHAT DO I DO!!! I want them both but I am really poor!

GuestI think the regular widescreen edition you saw, Knight, is the old NmBC DVD. There was a widescreen version of the SE released alongside the fullscreen version… So keep looking!!

GuestYou can get the version that you’re looking for from Amazon.com if nothing else:
(This lists its release date as August 28, 2001. Who knows.)
