GuestI finally found a little blurb that answers my earlier post (mysteriously deleted) in which I asked what inspired Burton to do a film that, based on the trailer anyway, seems a little more bright and cheery than his usual.
In typical chat room form, everyone who responded did not actually answer my question, but simply ragged on me for non-related issues.
Anyway, here it is.:
From reviewer Holly McClure:
“Burton was inspired to do this story after the death of his father while he was scouting for “Planet of the Apes” in 2000. His mother passed away last year. Burton said making this movie was therapeutic and “a way of exploring that, otherwise those feelings would’ve just kept swirling around.”December 18, 2003 at 1:11 am #47189Anonymous
