GuestI had to fly out to California for something this weekend, and my mom and I decided we might as well go to Disneyland. So we went and had a great time but I was really shocked when we were near the Haunted Mansion and they had an entire store full of almost nothing but Nightmare Before Christmas items. I expected that they’d have that kind of thing around Christmas and Halloween what with the Haunted Mansion Holiday and all, but year-round? I mean, holy crap. Has Disney finally realized that this movie kicks butt? Anyway, I think the only music I heard in the store was Grim Grinning Ghosts and then I think it was the end credits from Nightmare (I don’t remember). Still, even having that surprised me.
Since I’m a sensible person, I thought about what one thing I’d want to buy the rest of the day (I’m short on money) and after considering the book, eventually got a $42 sweatshirt. It hurt, but how often do you get to buy a sweatshirt of a Tim Burton movie at Disneyland? And it’s cozy. Like a big warm security blanket, only with a skeleton on it.

GuestYeah, that store’s awesome. I became aware of it when I visited Disneyland in March. I still haven’t been able to go during the holidays to ride Haunted Mansion Holiday yet, though.
My favorite thing in the store is probably the Dr. Finklestein cookie jar (the top of his head comes off…hahaha…okay, so it’s not THAT clever). I ended up just getting a t-shirt. My brother finally got the score, though. I was under the impression that it was out of print…it’s no longer carried (or at least not in stock) at any stores around here…but they’ve definitely still got it at that store in Disneyland.

GuestI rather enjoyed the cookie jar too. I also really wanted that pumpkin king votive holder because that’s my favorite image from the whole film, when the camera goes by that awesome-looking scarecrow. Buuuuuut . . . I knew that I’d probably outgrow it by next year and I wasn’t willing to pay $20 for it. So I went with the sweatshirt, which I’m trying to shrink in the dryer as we speak. Too freakin’ big.

GuestAll you lucky people with access to NMBC stores! I’ve been without a TV for 4 months – and without access to anybody else’s – so this “new HULK trailer” news is killing me!
