KeymasterPeter Berg’s next film is the super-effects driven Will Smith movie HANCOCK. Check out the great trailer here:

Looks like a mix of humor and big effects that Elfman handles very well.

ParticipantSomeone on the IMDb forums brazenly claims that John Powell is scoring the film without providing any source for this info. It’s in a topic that lists Danny Elfman and Michael Giacchino as good men for the job (and they’re right!) But isn’t Elfman’s plate a bit full with “Hellboy 2” and “Wanted” both coming out this summer?

ParticipantYea. Elfman doesn’t have time. Both Hellboy 2 and Wanted are being released around the same time as Hancock.

KeymasterI believe WANTED is already completed (it was supposed to be released around Christmas but Universal delayed its release). HELLBOY 2 has been in post-production since December, so it’s quite possible. I can dream

ParticipantNo more crappy computer-generated action flicks. God, I want another Sleepy Hollow type score. Frankenstein seems like an excellent fit. I’m praying to the film-score Gods for that one.

Participant…and what about S.O.P? Any news on the Morris doc?

ParticipantJohn Powell is indeed scoring “Hancock”, which I think is a great choice. Lately he’s been very prolific and his material has deviated from Remote Control-type stuff into his own style.
