GuestWhat are some opinions on the original score for Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? I wonder if the remake will still be a musical – can Depp sing? (The answer I’ve read to that question is “no” so far, but if anyone knows differently, please share)

GuestYou know… after his excellent performance in Moulin Rouge, I reckon Ewan Mcgregor would make a great Wonka. (sorry to be a little offf-subject). But he was cool… and he can sing pretty well!

GuestThere may be some songs but i don’t think the whole movie is a musical???!!!

GuestThe first movie will be disregarded. It’s a new treatment based on the book, so any songs in the book are likely to appear in the film.

GuestThat’d be good, too. I think it’s good to go back to the book – it’d be hard to accept just a remake of the film.

GuestI wish they would have gone back to the original book for the Planet of the Apes “re-imagining”.

GuestI hope, I HOPE, that Danny will get back to writing and write some great original songs for this! Im sure he will! I think the reason he hasnt writing songs for movies lately is cause the movies hes worked on since NMBC hasnt required any songs! But now will this and the Corpse bride coming we should be in for some real treats!

GuestIf they do follow the book, then they’re will be the Oompa–Loompas’ songs only.
What about The Corpse Bride; is it a musical or not ?

GuestI hope it is! I’ve just realised – much of our latest posts are all about “I hope…” hehe

GuestFirst of all, it’s not a remake… or a re-imagination for that matter… It’s a movie based on the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory… like the first. But the first Willy Wonka added alot of stuff that wasn’t in the book to make more of a dramatic storyline.

GuestCorrect me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t Slugworth in the book? Wasn’t he the one who stole the recipe for the candy that caused Wonka’s to close down?
…it’s been a long time, but I seem to remember this…
Sorry for the OT.
