I have no idea what happened but according to http://www.hans-zimmer.com, Zimmer’s credit has been withdrawn from The Simpsons movie. I know it’s a long shot but I’m still holding out for Elfman to sign on…

UPDATE: according to Dan Goldwasser at Soundtrack.net, GSA (the Agency Zimmer is with) might have rushed the gun in their announcement that Zimmer was scoring the movie and that’s why they took his name down. At any rate, it’s still “unofficial” whoever’s scoring The Simpsons.

March 28, 2006 at 11:40 pm #56739MonsterheadParticipantTHANK GOD!!!!!
And as much as I love Elfman, Alf Clausen should do it…..
And now it sounds like MEET THE ROBINSONS will be delayed yet again.

The Simpsons should have walked into the sunset years ago. It used to be so funny.

The fact is that I love Hans Zimmer’s music, but it’s a very different style from Danny’s. I’m sure he will do a great work, but never as good as Danny should have done in this case…
C ya!

Yes, he did the theme, but he’s already sometimes kicking himself it seems because that’s what people know him for. The simpsons theme. IF he does the movie as well, it cements him even closer to the simpsons, and is that really what he would want?
