I did a lot of theater writing in college, and elfman was certainly an influence and continues to be. That’s why I’m really interested in his screenwriting. I can’t even imagine what it would be like to see a story for it’s imagery and music at the same time. I’ve read “Little Demons” but can’t seem to get my hands on “Jimmy Callicut.” You don’t even want to know what I would sacrifice to be able to read “Undying Love.”
I answer the influence question the same, Mr. E, and also get strange looks.

Erika — Yeah, the thing in Chicago really happened. I couldn’t make that sort of thing up if I tried (nor would I want to). That was up in the northern part of Chicago, though, near Wrigleyville. Such apparations are not uncommon there. Funny thing is, Los Angeles (my current stomping grounds) has never seemed that bizarre to me as I kind of grew up near all that freakishness. People with 80% tatoo body coverage? Ah, it’s normal. Someone with a chain connecting each nipple and passing through the tounge? What else ya got? I feel it puts pressure on me to get some piercings and maybe think about a mohawk.
I would say I’ve been listening to Elfman’s soundtracks for 10 years, on the button. Since 1993, when The Nightmare Before Christmas came out. Half of the time I wasn’t even aware that I was listening to Danny Elfman, but I knew I loved the music.

-Me and a fellow bonerNo offense guys, but every guy I’ve ever met has turned out to be an @!#$–or married, or gay. But I must say, I am rather good at picking out the assholes (which I suppose is better than picking at them)!
Still, I don’t feel my priorities are too high: wants no kids, and loves dogs. And, next to that, there’s the whole long list of obsessions they’d have to put up with, starting with Danny (which started about thirteen years ago–back when I was eleven).
But hell, this ain’t no personal ads page! So, I ain’t gonna babble endlessly (for once)! I imagine there’s someone for everyone–I just think that my other half got mowed down by a freight train a few years back! Or drowned or fell or died or something….
i completely understand…i have a problem finding a girlfriend who appreciates danny elfman and tim burton the way i do
