The BBC are currently airing a programme called Maestro. Basically, several celebrities are competing for the opportunity to conduct at the Last Night of the Proms. Each week a celebrity is voted out. You get the idea. Anyway, on Tuesday’s episode the theme was film and television music. One of the pieces performed was Danny’s Elfman’s The Simpsons Theme. The celebrity conductor was the wonderful comedienne Sue Perkins. The arrangement was brilliant and it was nice to hear Elfman in a repertoire alongside other great composers. You can watch the episode on the BBC iPlayer: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00d2xmm/
The Simpsons is at 18:35.
