Danny and Child’s Play 2

Read on here http://rejectedfilmscores.150m.com/supposedlyrejected.html that Danny was going to score Child’s Play 2 at one point. It said that he wrote a theme and Graeme Revell took the job on the basis that he could use Elfman’s theme.

I’ve no idea about the validity of this, perhaps Shirley Walker conducting the score suggests that it’s true. I’ve always loved the main theme for Child’s Play 2 so I’d love to know if anyone knows anything about it?

It’s a surprisingly good score (for an awful movie!) regardless.

According to that site, Robert Smith of The Cure was Burton’s 1st choice to score Edward Scissorhands?

I remember reading something similar about Edward. Some of these are surprising but most of them seem accurate, although they are only rumours sometimes. I think Elfman was the only composer ever attached with TNBC though…
