Guestumm.. ok? so i have something to ask.. willy wonka and the chocolate factory .. is that going to be a sequel or just like a retelling of the story? and why does everyone think depp is going to be wonka in the sequel ( if it is one )? i mean if it isnt then ok he is wonka. but if he isnt.. then what makes u think so do u guys remember wonka left and told charlie to take over? so if this is a sequel i dont think johnny is gunna play gene`s role. i think he is gunna be like a bazaar charlie all wierded out . o0o well thats my opinon

GuestIt’s not a sequel. This is the same story. The original didn’t really stay true to the original book, but this one will. Depp is going to play Wonka.

GuestBy the way, what’s this -> o0o mean?
June 20, 2004 at 1:04 am #50745Anonymous
GuestI somehow think that sephanie is not a film score enthusiast, but that’s just a guess of mine. Stephanie, confirm this with me if I’m right, I think you’re a teenaged girl based on the way you write online. If I’m wrong, I’ll feel very stupid.
Mr. Dantz, o0o is a way that most teenage girls say a stressed “oh,” I believe. my girlfriend always says it online, so I just assume that’s what it means.

Guestehh.. dont feel stupid and yeah i am a teenaged girl , But what? does that mean i cant be on this site? this is really the only site where danny elfman can be talked about for me . I like his work and im possibly the only 14 year old girl that enjoys orchestra music … so excuse me for posting on here i just have questions that i wanted to be answered so if you have a problem with me being 14 and interested in music and the arts .. im sorry . My vocabulary on the computer isnt great .. but hey if you have a problem that you cant read what im saying tell me and i will * punctuate * and write it corectly. :: Sigh :: this actually makes me feel very uncomfortable . So if you guys dont want me posting on here ok. Just tell me.
-stephanieby the way how old are you guys?
like on your 30`s ? .. “Oh” well i guess
i like things people my age dont like .June 20, 2004 at 1:51 am #50748Anonymous
GuestHeheh. Don’t feel bad. It’s nothing to be ashamed of at all. The more Elfman fans the better, right? It doesn’t matter how old you are here. I think the age ranges from 14 to … whatever … 50? Heheh. I don’t know. I’m 17 myself.
June 20, 2004 at 2:12 am #50749Anonymous
GuestYea it is a pretty big age range .. I’m 18.

Guestwell i try not to feel better but that spider-fan guy got me really ticked off.. didnt really make me feel to welcome in this place . But , i guess things are diffrent now. i try to listen to as much elfman as i can . People tend to think im wierd cus when they whatch a burton film or any film that has danny elfman playing in the backround and i`ll be like ” Oh i know who does this piece! ” or i`ll just start singing along to it and they`ll be like ” how in the hell do you know this song ” not that im a total junky for these movies they just happen to be on and i look at the finishing credits . But im glad to know that im supported that i can atleast be young and like old taste . I`m also glad that there are people around my age group that listen to him ..
thanks for not making me
feel like a total outcast just
because im fresh meat liking
old stuff .

Guest17 here. Don’t feel bad Steph. All are welcome. Hehe, but sometimes we do have arguments, so don’t NOT expect those. But, hey, we’ve all got one thing in common: WE LOVE DANNY ELFMAN’S MUSIC!! That’s all that matters. I’m so glad I come here to talk about this common interest, because I have almost nobody to share it with in “real” life (not that you guys, and gals, aren’t real, but you know what I mean). It’s kinda weird being a 17-year old whose friends listen to mainly hard rock and rap (that latter of which I loath, sorry, it just doesn’t qualify as music to me). And then there’s me, which many people I know probably think that since I don’t listen to that stuff, I listen to Mozart or Bach or something. “No,” I say, “I listen to Danny Elfman!” They’ll look at me slightly funny, like they’re thinking, “Who the heck is that?!” My own sister calls me a “dork” all the time. Yeah, I’m a dork, AND PROUD OF IT! I’m babbling. Good night.
P.S. If I keep this kind of babbling up, maybe I should have a blog. Note to self: make website. About Danny Elfman…and video games.

GuestStephanie, Spider-Fan didn’t do anything that should have ticked you off at all. One thing you gotta’ remember is to not take everything so personally on message boards.
June 20, 2004 at 4:01 am #50754Anonymous
GuestD-Bo : you totally made my night after whatching big fish and edward scissor hands!! yeah your so nice . Dont worry * not that you do * my brothers call me dorks all the time .. yett there kind of into the same music so i have no clue why! your totally awsome i sware on danny elfmans name you made my night and actually put a smile on my face and a couple laughs
thanks for being so nice i defenitly understand where your coming from although i do like so old school rap and a little bit of rock .. But mostly orchestra. Your right about everything.. thats exactly why were here. It`s a board about elfman and thats what we have in common i defenitly wanna keep in touch with you . Your really nice .
-stephanieMr.Dantz : Yeah , mostly someone will tell me that but your forgetting something . I`m 14 lets put that in big worded sounded out caps FOURTEEN! and im a girl. It`s most likley to feel like this but now .. i really dont care anymore because there are people here nice enough to cheer me upand make me feel good. Let me put it this way.. they attempted to pick me up when i fell .

GuestAwww…thanks, Steph. *blushes* If you weren’t so young, I might ask you out. *blushes more* Did I just post that out loud?
June 20, 2004 at 4:27 am #50756Anonymous
GuestHahaha aww thats so nice ! but yeah.. you did post that out loud..i have a question for you. Have you ever scene the movie The Pianist? well if you have can you tell me who does all the orchestra music. I know its not elfman but its orchestra. If you havnt seen it i recommend it. It`s just a bit depressing but if u like piano its great!

GuestNo, I haven’t seen that movie. According to imdb.com, though, the original music is by Wojciech Kilar (I don’t think I’ll even try to pronouce that), and the non-original music is by Frédéric Chopin (piano works) and Ludwig van Beethoven (Moonlight Sonata).

Ah, it’s going to be just like the book? Yay! I’ll never have to read again.

GuestI’m really sorry if I offended you, stephanie. I’m 15 myself and I’ve never known a girl my age who liked Danny’s music, so I congratulate you for coming here and saying that you do. In this society, it’s hard to admit that you’re a fan of film music. My friends all make fun of me. Good for you. It’s kind of funny that none of us have seen you but everyone’s flirting with you. You’re probably pretty cute. HAHA, this is kind of an Elfman dating service…he’s good not only for music but for that too, lol.
