    Hey Guys-

I thought that you might like to see that Danny Elfman was nominated for Wonka’s Welcome Song.

It’s a Small World style + Danny Elfman style = Grammy!

At least it does to me:(

Hmmm…that’s probably the weakest song of all the ones he did for CHARLIE and CORPSE BRIDE combined. But hey, better than nothing.

That’s pretty funny about the Welcome Song getting nominated, of all the songs he’s written this past year. I don’t think it will win considering it’s a one-minute song and it’s up against some critically acclaimed songs, but it sure would be nice to see him win. I’m really excited to see The Incredibles getting so much attention with three nominations, as that was one of my favorite scores of 2004.

It was the most commercialized song from Danny this year, and certainly one of the most commercialized songs associated with any movie PERIOD!… which is probably one of the reasons I always thought Elfman was too good for these awards, and one of the reasons I don’t believe in piling on any more praise to the likes of John Williams (again, nothing against him personally).

If he wins for this, then well done…. but in my opinion, it’ll be for all his other work that this honor would go to. Anytime he gets any sort of public recognition, I feel it’s good, considering the public doesn’t even begin to honor him for his true masterpieces.

Are Elfman’s other songs for Charlie even eligible?

    God damn, the Grammy’s suck.
My heart is not in this one at all for Danny. The nominations seem so weak. I would be more excited if he found a Scooby Doo tattoo in a box of Cracker Jacks.

When is Ray going to stop getting nominated? And for score? Good to see everyone has an equel chance to get nominated and that drawing names out of hats hasn’t completely gone out of style.

The Incredibles is still eligible. God.

    Why wouldn’t they be?

Er, because the lyrics aren’t original to Elfman?

Just think of it this way: Kanye West was nominated for a ton of Grammys. Would it even be worth it to have one?

I don’t listen to Kanye’s music, but he had the cojones to put GWB in his place.

And he deserves a grammy for that IMO.
