I don’t believe it and I don’t think I would be excited if it was true…

Has it ever concerned anyone that Hellboy is clearly a man?

    Should be interesting…if true!

A del Toro-Elfman pairing is long overdue. Elfman’s musical style is perfect for del Toro’s visual style. I really enjoyed “Hellboy” and wasn’t too crazy about Beltrami’s score for it, so this news makes me quite happy!

I second that comment, Spider-fan! Those 2 are a perfect pairing, second of course, to Burton/Eflman!

That’s pretty disappointing. I want him to score more original material.

So Elfman’s hired to score a movie he hasn’t even seen yet?

That’s the way it usually goes, doesn’t it? (?)

Unless it’s a Tim Burton-type situation, Danny usually approves a film before he spends hundreds of hours working on it.

DSoesn’t mean he’ll have seen it at that point, if you know what I mean. :-)

OH COME ON, everyone! That’s so clearly a joke….as in Elfman doing all superhero movies these days.

Yeah, I didn’t really consider this anything very probable. Just chatting. :-]

After Pan’s Labyrinth, I can see why any composer would jump at the chance of working with Del Toro.

I loved Javier Navarrete’s score for that film, but that is the kind of project Elfman should be working on.

The superhero movie aspect was the last thing I thought of. Really, it’s time for these two to collaborate on a project. If Danny was going to be linked to every superhero project, he would have been brought on board to write themes for “Heroes” (which I would have really appreciated, actually, because I love the show but the music is terrible).

I love the show Heroes as well, and at first I thought it was just the same old droning trick, but it seems to be evolving as the show is. There are actually little motives that pop up, and only now have they started to be developed. The last episode really showed that! I think the music in this show was as carefully thought out as the story itself… you can’t rush it, but it can’t overpower the show either right now. After every episode I’ve said, “wow that was a great episode” even when there isn’t much acting. I just hope it doesn’t go the way of Lost where it seems the writers are just trying to throw in whatever to make it last before the big reveal that they are in a virtual reality simulator on vacation or something like that. But it is about heroes so it can pretty much go anywhere (as the last episode showed). Enough geeking about Heroes…

    … who loves Elfman?!?!?!?!

SoundtrackNet seems to always have the official word on things, and if that is true, then Danny is indeed scoring “Hellboy 2”!!!
