I’d personally like to hear Elfman do another suspense score, something like Mission: Impossible or Extreme Measures.

You’re right, Knight: some already HAVE pegged Elfman as a super hero-scorer. The little blurb on Music From the Movies itself says: “Super Hero specialist Danny Elfman is now scheduled to replace and score [The Hulk].” SUPER HERO SPECIALIST!!

Do you think Spider-Man was the turning point at which people started thinking, “Okay, Elfman’s the one for super heroes!” or was it earlier than that?

In an interview, Nick Nolte said that the only reason he signed on to “The Hulk” is because director Ang Lee described the project as a “greek tragedy.” I have a feeling that “The Hulk” will be different than any of Elfman’s other comic-book projects and that this will be reflected in his score.

lets just hope the main title will atleast show a sliver of inspirational theme, my prediction: Spidey+POTA+Batsy+a little ToDieFor for that dual identity feel, cud be wrong , sum Red Dragon might shine thru as well if we’re lucky

DANNA DROPPED, HULK TO BE RE-SCORED!

Composer Mychael Danna has been dropped from scoring The Hulk. The scheduled sessions in April will no longer take place. Super Hero specialist Danny Elfman is now scheduled to replace and score the picture.

So, the guy scored the whole movie only to be replaced by something else? Poor guy.

Happened with Silvestri on the first Mission: Impossible–replaced by Mr. Danny Elfman-Fonda.

And of course, Alex North (Spartacus; A Streetcar Named Desire; Good Morning, Vietnam) wrote a complete original score for 2001: a Space Odyssey before the decision was made to use the classical selections that are so famously associated with the film today. North’s original score, fortunately, is now available on CD. I’d be interested to watch the film along with it.

Actually, North had only scored the film up to the intermission. Even though the CD is available, it is a concert-style rerecording that does not synch up entirely to the film.

Sounds cool with me. Danny Elfman is every superherocomic – book´s composer.

Nick Nolte is in “The Hulk?” *Snicker* Nolte’s originally from Omaha, NE. Omaha – hahaha! *Still laughing*

Well, you must say that “Elfman-Fonda” sounds better than “Fonda-Elfman.” You can’t have two vowels back-to-back and have them sound coherent…

An Elfman score means that I’ll have to see “The Hulk.” As Pammy mentioned, it wasn’t one I planned on seeing, either. Then again, XMEN 2 really wasn’t something I was too excited about…and that turned out to be a “seen 3 times in one weekend” event for me!

    -E (the “omaha” line…er…doesn’t merit explaining…)
