GuestHello, I’m a Japanese. So I’m sorry about my poor English skill…
My favorite movies are “Edward Scissorhands” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” .
I cried and cried when I saw “Edward Scissorhands”. I also cried when I heard soundtrack. So I like Danny Elfman. We can see “The Nightmare Before Christmas” in the theater this autumn! And we can see Jack at the attraction Haunted Mansion in Tokyo DisneyLand this autumn, too! I’m looking forward to these. And we will be able to see “Big Fish” in the theater after May 15th in Japan. I can’t wait!

GuestI’m American.
[silent pause; crickets chirp]
But I’m totally anti-war and I’m NOT a “Bushie.” (not to get TOO political or anything)
[applause]
Welcome! It’s nice to know there are other people in the world who appreciate Mr. Elfman’s work. Looking forward to your topics!

GuestUh…I’m American, too!
[same pause, same crickets]
And war wasn’t my favorite decision, but it was the right thing to do. And I AM a “Bushie”.
[same applause, except more]
Welcome to the board, Yun!

GuestI’m an American, also, but not very proud of it. With a total moronic baboon in the whitehouse giving every other country in the world enough reason to hate us, there’s no reason I should be proud.

GuestYes! I too am an Americano de Los Angeles, California and me no likey Bushie neither. Me thinks Bushie is a Presidente Moronito and oh yes, me loves Elfman musica very very mucho too!

GuestYes. And I’m from America, as well. And, I’m not proud to be a person, period. Figure people suck, in general. (Well, not so much the people sucking, as the stupid things that they do).

GuestToday, I bought the Big Fish’s adovance ticket with post cards (that illustrated by Tim Burton).
(
)Here, Japanese style “Smiley”. You use like this
dosen’t it?Well…we don’t care if you are “Bushie” or not…
Most of us, Japanese think “I wish I were American. And I can speak and read and write English, I don’t have to study English!” If I live in America, I can see the movies earlier, and see many movie stars on TV, I think.May 1, 2004 at 3:17 am #49867Anonymous
GuestI’m going to keep this short, since this is more or less the time but not the place, but if I was American, I’d vote for Kerry this year. I think that Bush has proven in several ways that he is completely unsuitable presidential material, and that most Americans don’t realise that the sort of “freedom” that their ideology, culture and constitution depends on and revels in is being taken away from them very quickly. I would go so far as to say that the most unAmerican thing you people could do right now is to vote for Bush.
Burt (who believes Nader’s heart is in the right place but knows that here in the real world, the only way to get Bush and Co. out is to get Kerry in.)

GuestHuh… My previous post looks more like an advertisment and less like an opinion; my apologies (I do stand by the main point made in it, however).
And D-Bo, you and I are essentially in the same boat – I’m Canadian and you’re 16; neither of our opinions counts for much.

GuestGood point.

I’d vote if I could, though.

GuestI’m an American, and damn proud of it.

I’m not too happy about our situation this election year, however. Voting for Bush would be like chopping off my left hand. But voting for Kerry would be like cutting out my heart, so…I guess I’ll just have to bid a fond farewell to my left hand this November!
Ash
P.S. And anyone who comments on American ideology, culture, and constitution with respect to freedom and then says he thinks that “Nader’s heart is in the right place” just shows that he knows nothing about either freedom or American ideology in general…sorry Burt!

GuestI agree. Bush is a criminal (in more ways than one), and he should be put in prison.
May 2, 2004 at 3:06 pm #49889Anonymous
GuestAnyone who thinks that the president of the United States–no matter how bad they’ve *all* been for the past 80 years or so–is worse than the murderous dictator of some practically third-world ****-hole, is either completely dishonest or out of touch with reality. Give me a break from your ridiculous anti-Bush hyperbole. Bush is an idiot and has down some lousy things for this nation, but he’s not a “Nazi” or whatever other inane ad hominem slurs you want to throw at him.
May 2, 2004 at 3:53 pm #49890Anonymous
Guest‘murderous dictator’ ….and wat exactly is bush? prison is the only place for him…or a circus cos he’s a fucking clown
May 2, 2004 at 5:38 pm #49891Anonymous
GuestGood god. It’s truly sad that some people unquestioningly buy into political propaganda, no matter how outrageous. “Dictator?” Please. The U.S. is no dictatorship. But if you think that it is, you are free to leave to some other country that you consider more free (which just further proves that it isn’t). “—-ing clown?” Okay…that’s just retardedly juvenile.
These are just more ridiculous ad hominem smears without any basis. I hope you know you’re only making yourself look like a moron.

GuestOf course, what can one expect from someone who can’t manage to spell monosyllabic words (“wat,” “cos”) or use proper capitalization or punctuation?
May 2, 2004 at 5:47 pm #49893Anonymous
GuestI concur with AndrewStt.

Guestpolitical propaganda…if u live in america you’re in the middle of all that **** anyway so f*ck you. you need to get out into the real world.
‘Of course, what can one expect from someone who can’t manage to spell monosyllabic words (“wat,” “cos”) or use proper capitalization or punctuation?’…..
wat the f*ck has that got to do with this arguement?bush is a stupid, dengerous f*cko. anyone stupid enough to fall for his **** should be f*ckin sent to prison along with him. dumb f*cks. he and his followers are the morons of this world.not me mate. f*ck this political bullshit. bushies annoy the christ out of me. he’s a corrupt, bag of ****, moronic, murderering imbecile. end of arguement.

Guestelf said: “wat the f*ck has that got to do with this arguement?”
In other words, you consider my ad hominem attack to be invalid. How deliciously ironic.

“bushies annoy the christ out of me.”
Me too (and I’ve explicitly stated that I dislike Bush extremely). On the other hand, so do anti-“Bushies.” So does anyone who dogmatically follows any movement regardless of the facts of reality.
“end of arguement.”
That doesn’t work when you never *gave* an argument. Your whole post is just idiotic name-calling. (I especially like how you want everyone who disagrees with you to be imprisoned–i.e., forcibly silenced. Doesn’t say a lot for your conviction in the rationality of your own position.)
“he and his followers are the morons of this world.not me mate.”
Re-read your last post and see if you can honestly say that with a straight face, or at least expect others to come to that conclusion based on what you’ve posted here.
I think that your problem is that you’re a pretentious teenager who’s been brought up during the “self-esteem” movement and have been taught in school that you’re a unique, special person no matter what you think, and so your ideas are as good as anybody else’s whether you can back them up or not. So you latch on to whatever the latest angry trend is without even really understanding it, and then when someone calls you on being full of ****, you get extremely pissed off. But it’s about time you learned that if you venture your opinion about something, you’d better be prepared to learn its exact worth to your audience.
Oh, and if you don’t live in America, or anywhere else that’s presently directly involved in the current conflict, then shut the f.uck up.

GuestHahahah! This is getting kinda’ outa’ control! I knew it would because it always does.
Anyway, I do agree that he is a ****ing clown, but he’s not a dictator, no matter how much he wants to be.
