Danny Elfman confirmed on KCRW that he is scoring MEN IN BLACK III. The film hits theaters May 25, 2012. This will be Danny’s first trilogy of scores!
(He also confirms DARK SHADOWS [duh], FRANKENWEENIE [duh], and Sam Raimi’s GREAT & POWERFUL OZ). Listen here: http://www.kcrw.com/media-player/mediaPlayer2.html?type=audio&id=mbe

November 25, 2011 at 3:13 am #67279lonzoeParticipantGood to know. My most anticipated Elfman score next year.
November 25, 2011 at 4:22 am #67280iggybiggyParticipantI can tell you this about Huger Games, Steve Bartek told me on November 5th, that he was still waiting for music from Danny on Hunger Games.
November 27, 2011 at 2:41 am #67289Descent Into MysteryParticipantFinally, an Elfman trilogy.
November 27, 2011 at 12:14 pm #67293ddddeeeeParticipantBudget is $215M, I believe that’s the biggest ever for an Elfman film.
November 28, 2011 at 1:45 am #67294Descent Into MysteryParticipantI think “Spider-Man 2” and “Alice in Wonderland” were in the same ballpark.
November 29, 2011 at 11:55 pm #67303ddddeeeeParticipantYeah both of those had budgets of $200M.
Here are the first two posters for MIB3. They may induce dizziness.

February 11, 2012 at 9:39 pm #67357ddddeeeeParticipantRecording today?
February 13, 2012 at 7:27 am #67362Descent Into MysteryParticipantRecently, I read that Danny was still working on the Dark Shadows score. I guess he must be multi-tasking.
February 13, 2012 at 9:37 pm #67366iggybiggyParticipantAs far as I heard, Danny is supposed to begin recording of Dark Shadows in London at the end of February.

March 5, 2012 at 11:48 pm #67403ThorParticipantSo Josh Brolin is supposed to play a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones. A 40 year younger Jones….and he’s only, like, 20 years younger in real life?! That’s sci fi right there! And where’s Rip Torn?
Loved the funky Elfman theme at the end there, though.
March 16, 2012 at 5:01 pm #67417AnonymousInactiveNew music on the site?
http://meninblack.com/site/March 16, 2012 at 6:21 pm #67418Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterTwo of the cues are from the previous scores — “City Chase” and “The Suit”, howevever “Men at Work” and “Doomed” sound new.
March 18, 2012 at 9:27 pm #67422John MullinParticipantI’m not sure, but I think I remember hearing cues that were a lot like “Men at Work” and “Doomed” in the mix of the first movie… meaning unreleased cues that weren’t on the CD.
March 23, 2012 at 6:47 pm #67426ddddeeeeParticipantPitbull is doing the theme song this time.

March 26, 2012 at 9:27 pm #67431ddddeeeeParticipantI know you’re all super excited for Pitbull’s song, so wait no more.

March 27, 2012 at 2:43 am #67432lonzoeParticipantWith all the negative feedback this song’s getting hopefully it’ll be absent on the score album. Assuming Sony will release a score album.
March 27, 2012 at 7:16 pm #67438ddddeeeeParticipantI’m more annoyed that it took the cool artwork with J and the two K’s. We’re going to be stuck with that headache-inducing first poster.
