Kraft-Engel management listed Mr. Peabody & Sherman in Danny’s credits.

Rob Minkoff, dir.September 23, 2013 at 5:49 pm #61930ddddeeeeParticipantFirst Blue Sky, now Dreamworks, next Pixar!
Really though, this doesn’t sound all that great, the movie I mean.
September 23, 2013 at 5:56 pm #61931Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterI’ve gotta say, I loved the original animated version. I hope this one isn’t loaded with calamitous chases, pop-culture references and fart jokes. Kind of what every DreamWorks animated pic is.
September 23, 2013 at 9:49 pm #61936DannyBikerParticipantBeside his collaboration with Burton, I always found his animation picks (and scores) pretty underwhelming…
September 24, 2013 at 7:00 pm #61923dr.gigglesParticipantEpic was a fantastic animation film score
September 25, 2013 at 9:39 am #61924DannyBikerParticipantYeah, Epic was actually a nice listening experience but I wouldn’t go as far as “fantastic”…
October 13, 2013 at 4:21 pm #61869ddddeeeeParticipantWell the only other one is Meet The Robinsons, which admittedly this one sounds a lot closer to.
The plot synopsis reads like 90 minutes of gags, hopefully there’s more to it than that. If it’s in line with Dreamworks’ last March releases like How To Train Your Dragon or even The Croods all will be well.
October 23, 2013 at 6:34 pm #61828ddddeeeeParticipantAccording to Twitter the score is being recorded today in London.
October 23, 2013 at 8:46 pm #61829MonsterheadParticipantThat does not seem possible, but who am I to say?
October 23, 2013 at 10:00 pm #61830ddddeeeeParticipantI read an interview with the director today and he said the movie will be finished in a month so it sounds about right?
October 25, 2013 at 6:03 pm #61831ddddeeeeParticipantOctober 28, 2013 at 1:47 am #61832elfboy91ParticipantSounds like Ty Burrell is channeling his best Kelsey Grammer impression.

Recording today in London.
December 24, 2013 at 2:41 pm #67760ddddeeeeParticipantAlbum is coming, in the UK at least. It’s getting released a month earlier overseas so makes sense.

There are two themes, one for Peabody and one for Sherman, that are used extensively. The score is omnipresent with a lot of mickey mousing. Not a major Elfman score by any means but there should certainly be a solid 40 minute album out of it.
Elfman’s cue for the Dreamworks logo, a mini-suite of the Peabody theme, is really awesome.
February 14, 2014 at 2:00 am #67765MonsterheadParticipantThe cover art is online now too
February 16, 2014 at 1:29 pm #67814ddddeeeeParticipantHere’s the track that plays over the Dreamworks logo.

March 3, 2014 at 11:42 pm #67774bookbinder3ParticipantHas anyone else got the CD and found themselves really enjoying it? I think the first two tracks alone might be worth the price of admission, as it were. It’s got a really classic Elfman sound that reminds me quite frequently of the ‘Amazing Stories’ tracks from MFADT and other light hearted fare from that period. Out of the his three recent fantasy scores (this, Oz and Epic) I think this may be my favourite. The film was also my favourite of the aforementioned, as well.
March 4, 2014 at 12:30 am #67775Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterI’ve ordered it from Amazon.ca, so it won’t ship until next week. I’ve heard the first two tracks and they are fantastic – like a merge between BACK TO SCHOOL, FAMILY DOG and his “Overeager Overture.” Looking forward to having the CD in my hands.
March 4, 2014 at 6:13 am #67777dr.gigglesParticipantAhh, such a breath of fresh air! This album is a delightful departure from all of the trendy “epic” trailer style scores droning on and on! It reminds me of Flubber’s playfulness. It’s also great to finally hear some Egyptian Elfman. Very pleased…I love it!
March 4, 2014 at 10:40 am #67779ddddeeeeParticipantI love ‘The Flying Machine’.
March 5, 2014 at 2:23 am #67782Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterThe Mancini LIFEFORCE riff in “War/Disaster” – wonder if that is intentional?
March 16, 2014 at 11:57 am #67807LambegueParticipantThere are several additional composers on this one, it seems to be more and more frequent in Elfman’s scores. Do you know exactly how much work they do on a score ?
March 16, 2014 at 12:20 pm #67808ddddeeeeParticipantElfman mentioned he was about to start it a month before recording started. I wonder Elfman’s hiring was a last minute thing? That might explain it.
