Steve Bartek’s official web site (stevebartek.com) has posted some new infos about the october 29th concert.
As we all know, this is not a reunion show, but a lot of interesting people are part of this event. First of all, JOHNNY VATOS HERNANDEZ, JOHN AVILA, STEVE BARTEK, SAM PHIPPS from the original Boingo band will be there.
Then, RICHARD GIBBS (member of oingo boingo in the early 80s) will be part of the show too.
DOUG LEGACY, also member of the boingo band is gonna play with them.
The band FOOD FOR FEET (with Vatos and Avila) will perform again for the first time since the early 90’s.
Another great surprise is the participation of BEAR MC CREERY (composer of the BattleStar Galactica tv shows, with Richard Band). He’s going to arrange songs from THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
The vocals are going to be performed by BRENDAN MC CREERY, and RAYA YARBROUGH.
Of course, RICHARD ELFMAN will be there too!
It seems like this evening is going to be incredibly interesting!
I mean, it’s really a huge event to see all these people re-united to share pure Boingo Madness! Ok, Danny’s not part of it, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t be interesting. And hearing NBC songs arranged and performed live, that’s gonna be awesome.I still live in Switzerland, but I’m really thinking about buying an airplane ticket for the week-end. I know it sounds crazy to go from Switzerland to L.A. only for a week-end but I’ll be so sad not to be part of this event…

September 28, 2005 at 10:58 pm #55261LittleMaestroParticipantWhat? No Carl Graves?
September 28, 2005 at 11:14 pm #55263Monsters R usParticipantI wasn’t FEELING Graves’ keyboard work…it just sounded TAME and one-note, really. Sounded like he used a cheap keyboard, at that…Especially now – Boingo Alive I will barely listen to, after the hack job he did on No One Lives Forever, respectively. It just sounds crappy with a capital “C”.
September 29, 2005 at 12:02 am #55265LittleMaestroParticipantWhat about Mike Bacich?
September 29, 2005 at 1:52 am #55268Monsters R usParticipantdont know him. if he aint in the group, then he mustve been disliked or something…

September 30, 2005 at 9:08 am #55309Mr. DantzParticipantI really don’t think so.
September 30, 2005 at 2:31 pm #55311Dawg ManParticipantDanny says all the time that he thinks reunion concerts should be outlawed. I seriously doubt it.
September 30, 2005 at 5:56 pm #55316AnonymousInactiveYeah, you’re probably right. I am still holding out hope. But I am not attending just to see Danny. It sounds fun anyway.

‘EL MAS LOCO’October 1, 2005 at 5:12 am #55325AnonymousInactive“If you think it could get ugly do not show up… “
Uhm… what’s that supposed to mean? Are there going to be, like, gang fights going on or something?!!!?
October 1, 2005 at 6:08 am #55326LittleMaestroParticipantI can’t wait!!!!!
It will be the best Halloween in 10 years!!!!
October 1, 2005 at 1:27 pm #55330Monsters R usParticipantActually it sounds like it’s going to be like one of those Vegas concerts where the performers sing the songs half-assed and start talking during them…
October 1, 2005 at 9:26 pm #55332TenderLumplingParticipantYeah, and I bet they won’t even bother relearning the older songs. They’ll just wing it and go “Everybody’s comin’, leave Steve Bartek at the door.”
They forget how the old Boingo concerts transpired; band members will hurdle hard candy upon the crowd, yelling: “We’re Ingo Bingo — Enjoy us! This is what we did, right?”
They’ll start playing U2 songs. “Does this ring a bell, folks?”
