A few points:

1. Who said they were supposed to be “art-rock”? They were just eccentric; they never claimed to be particularly “arty” in any way. They did what they wanted to do and Danny wrote whatever he wanted to write about. Period. The statement is just a presumption of Boingo’s views of themselves, as is the claim that they were “pretentious”. They never claimed to deserve any reverence or praise, regardless of whether they actually did or not.

2. Am I the only one who sees a significant difference between calling some one a “sountrack composer” and a “film composer” or “score composer”? “Soundtrack” can mean anything nowadays from a film score to a bunch of random songs placed on an album under the film’s title, regardless of whether they were even used in the film or not. I found it a little insulting that they didn’t specify exactly what he does….or at the very least ignorant on their part.

3. Rick was only part of the group during the Mystic Knights phase. Apparently they either didn’t know that, or didn’t care enough to make that clear.

4. As Bodhi said, they never even mentioned specifically what made Boingo so terrible, except for their “ostentanious orchestration” and their supposed “pretention”. Funny thing is that the only two negative words they used to describe Boingo are synonyms, so they basically said the same thing twice.

5. I think maybe the reason they hated OAL the most was *because* of Imposter.

That list was so retarded!!! I mean they obviously dont know what talent or what good music is, cause I mean there were some good bands on that list besides Boingo(which of course irked me the most) but bands like Primus, Toad the Wet Sproket, Kansas, and Spin Doctors, were on there too, thats just crazy. And I belive they hated OAL because of Imposter as well, that was my first thought when i read that actually! lol
