Hello everyone!
I’m a musician and i love doing some easy orchestations with my keyboard and my computer. I’m also a Danny Elfman fan since I saw Batman for first time. Totally amazing. I’m always waiting to see any film in which Danny is involved.
Well a few days ago I was wondering about which is the bell instrument Danny used in Edward Scissorhands(and some others like Corpse Bride). I’ve tried with some synths bells and some vibraphone or percussion instruments from my keyboard and I’m never happy enough with that sound. Can anyone help me with this question?
Thank you!!!

Experiment also with things like Guitar Harmonics, Harp Harmonics, Glockenspiel samples, Music Box samples, ect. as they are all very fun to mess with. The only bad thing about using a Celeste is sometimes people will go “Oh! That sounds like Danny Elfman!” Even if it sounds NOTHING like him .
Knight (Chromatic percussion is fun)

I have a ton of questions about a lot of the percussion used in that score – especially with one instrument in particular in the track ‘ The River Cruise’. Heard throughout most of the track, it’s a odd, chromatic, marimba-like insturment that adds color to the beat… it almost sounds bell-like. Does anyone know what I’m talking about, or should I turn this into an actual thread?
Very curious and absolutely in love with it.
Cheers,
