GuestI can just see all those Britney Spears pre-teen fan girls checking out “Edward Scissorhands” after they see the video pretend they’re now Burton fans.
“Oh My God! What a fantastic movie … but what’s with those scissors… can’t he get surgery or something… then he’ll be normal and hot!”
PLEASE GOD NO!!

Guesteh, it happens…if you wanna grow a fanbase you gotta try to appeal to the new masses. Look at Celine Dion – she looks like a tame Christina Aguilera, with cottonball hair; a turn off for her already prominent fanbase, probobly. But for the new kids? She’s probobly HOT. Go figure…She shoulda stuck with her demure diva crap, if you ask me…

GuestHoff! My goodness this is interesting news. I predict an end to Tim Burton’s respected career. Thanks to this, mindless insecure preteens will rush to Hot Topic; making goth and punk more trendy than it already is. I can imagine it now! 9-year-olds to 12-year-olds will be storming to the midnight viewings of Rocky Horror Picture Show accompanyed by their soccer moms just to look cool. Ah, the humanity. I feel betrayed…

GuestI posted here two days ago but the board apparently was having problems, so…
I wouldn’t worry about Britney fans claiming to be Burton fans over this. For one, they probably won’t know what to make of his other work…they’d dislike Edward Scissorhands for it’s bittersweet ending, bitch about how ugly the Penguin looks in Batman returns, be repulsed by all of the decapitations in Sleepy Hollow…it’s hard for anyone to like things that they don’t get, especially those who prefer music and films that really require little or no thought to understand. As for goth and punk becoming bigger fads, I don’t think that’s even possible from what I’ve seen. Mindless insecure pre-teens already rush to Hot Topic, so there’s no need to fret over the inevitable. I would worry about them showing up to Rocky Horror with Mommy; I don’t think there is a soccer mom on earth who would let her kids go to see Rocky Horror, supervised or not, and no kid wants to have mom around when their trying to look cool in front of their friends. In regard to the video itself, I’m a bit daunted by the news, but until I see it I’ll assume that this is a rumor and nothing more. If it’s not, I’ll try nd keep an open mind about it. I hate B.S., but I’m still a fan of Tim and I’m going to give him benefit of the doubt until I have legitimate reason not to.

GuestWe’re all fools for thinking that a fan of britney spears would have any interest whatsoever in who directed one of her videos.

GuestWell, if you think about it … it’s lame that its Britney he is supposedly doing this for. But on the other hand how many AWESOME music videos are there out there. It is just another form of media and I think it would be cool to see what he could do.
It’s too bad that Burton didn’t direct a Boingo video.

GuestNAh we just got the opposite – Boingo directing a Burton movie.

GuestThere is a GOD !!!
Britney Spears spent her holiday vacation in Los Angeles shooting the video for “Toxic,” her second single from In the Zone. Helmed by Joseph Kahn, who last directed Spears in her clip for “Stronger,” the video premieres on “Making the Video” on January 13 at 6:30 p.m. ET. …

GuestI’m not a Britney Spears fan, but if Tim Burton has anything to do with it, I’ll at least watch the music video MUTED.
