I saw on Facebook, that Richard Elfman recently posted a picture of himself and Gus Van Sant. Richard said that Gus was around because he was working with his brother Danny, so I’m thinking that Danny is doing this project. I will see if I can dig up some more information from my sources.
That would be great. Elfman sure likes to keep himself busy.
EDIT: I was just thinking, Elfman said he recorded Frankenweenie in London during the weekend of the Royal Jubilee, around the 5th of June or so. That was almost three months ago, what’s he been doing since? It’s surely too early for Oz or Epic so maybe his contributions to this (if he is doing it) and/or Silver Linings Playbook are more significant than we think.
I have confirmed that Danny is indeed doing the score for Promised Land. By the dates I was given, it is done already.
I was also told he is doing Hitchcock in the begining of October, Oz in December, Epic in February.
Yesterday Clint Mansell re-tweeted something about recording the score for HITCHCOCK. Is he scoring or is Danny?
I saw that too. It looked like it was someone else re-scoring a silent Hitchcock movie. The TwitPic showed a pretty low-fi set up.
Elfman’s listed on the FYC site. So is it safe to assume he wrote a fair bit of music?
Yes this is very Pleasant. Question, why would Focus Features put all of the out takes from “the turn around” on the FYC site? Don’t get me wrong, I love it, just don’t think most people do.
The music that is currently streaming on Focus Features is the same as the FYC Promo that is floating around. I’m really warming up to this music. This was a nice year for Elfman fans, but I feel like I’ve been saying that every year…
