This is, to my mind, the best Elfman score since Sleepy Hollow. If it weren’t for the cues written for Serenada, I’d say this is his year to win that Oscar (as it is, I’m not sure if it would be disqualified for having too much previously written material in the score).

I’d like to see a Burton/Elfman version of something like Fantasia or Koyaanisqatsi. Non-narrative pictures and audio. Something super funky again, like Forbidden Zone or Freeway, would be nice too.

Is it true that they fired Bartek soon after the series took off? If it is, Elfman should make a big public stink if he wins.
