First was “Lemony Snicket,” then obviously “What’s This” from NBC. Not sure what the last song was, but DANNY’S VOICE WAS HEARD! HE’S THE SKELETON WHO SAYS “A tragic tale of romance, passion, and a murder most foul.” That’s Bonejangles, the character he voiced! Yay! The animation is beautiful! I’m so excited! Is it obvious from the caps and exclamation marks?!

Yeah, it was LEMONY SNICKET (Tom Newman) then ADDICTED TO LOVE (Rachel Portman) and then the NIGHTMARE music. I didn’t recognize the music that was under the last part of the trailer, but it doesn’t really sound like Elfman to me and I’m skeptical that music from the score would get into a trailer this early anyway.

As for Bonejangles… are we sure that Danny does the voice for the character and doesn’t just sing that character’s song? I think this information came out of the interview that Doug Adam’s did with Elfman for a yet to be published FSM article. He posted a preview here:

Doug Adams: You’re singing one of the songs in Corpse Bride as well, right?

Danny Elfman: Yeah, I got a really fun one in Corpse Bride! It’s called “Remains of the Day,” and it’s from a character who’s a skeleton called Bonejangles.

DA: That sounds right up your alley!

DE: Yeah, actually it was kind of rough for me because it was a kind of a voice that… You know, Jack Skellington I could sing all day long. Bonejangles had a rougher voice and I didn’t want to sing it. I really wanted to bring in somebody with a rougher voice that mine. We had a lot of auditions both in England and in New York. I actually recorded three people. I put a lot of time into trying to get somebody else’s voice on to this! And in the end Tim said, “Look, can you just do it, please!?” So I went in and redid it from my demo. It was a tough one. It was the kind of part that I’d sing it for 15 minutes and I’d be coughing. My throat was really hurting after singing Bonejangles! It was mega-sore throat all night long both nights. I had to do it twice.

DA: Do you have to do any dialogue, or just the singing?

    DE: Just a little, fortunately!

Indeed. Besides “NmBC”, “The Stepford Wives” is the only other piece I recognized. (Although now that “Unfortunate Events” was mentioned, I’m slapping myself for not recognizing it).
Hear a sample of “The Stepford Wives” unreleased score at http://www.davidarnold.com > Media > The Stepford Wives Waltz

Does this movie make anyone else wish that that horrible Haunted Mansion Movie had been made as a stop-motion animation film with Tim Burton directing? I dont know, i just love that ride and think it was wonderfully creepy for is time! Its creepiness still holds up today and watching this trailor just made me wish that would have happened! I cant wait for this! The suspense is beating me over the head!

Hey Ryan, are you a scooper for JoBlo.com? On one of their stories about the Corpse Bride trailer, it says “thanks to Ryan not only for letting us know about the trailer but for having an unpronounceable last name (because those are cool – seriously, try to pronounce my last name).” Is that you? Link to the scoop:
