Ugh… I’m so sick of Vampires.. not even excited for Burton’s new flick… Vampires just aren’t interesting to me.

But whatever Elfman scores, I’ll see it.

    Thanks for the update D-Bo.

I dunno.. they seemed to be kinda bitchy about the word “ONLY” in the preview.. Hopefully it’ll tour. I’ve never seen a show from them. Always wanted too. Maybe I’ll get a trip out there this summer…

Cool interview. Although Ray Harryhausen isn’t a composer.. haha!

It was cool to learn about his FANTASIA experience. That’s one of my all-time favorite movies and to hear he likes it too is really exciting for some reason.

    I’ll give it a shot…

PEE WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE – “Clown Dream”
    BEETLEJUICE – “The Fly”
BATMAN – “Waltz to the Death”
EDWARD SCISSORHANDS – “The Cookie Factory” (What can I say?… I’m a play Trombone)
    BATMAN RETURNS – “The Cemetery”
THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS – “Dr. Finklestein/ In The Forest”
    MARS ATTACKS – “Martian Madame”
    SLEEPY HOLLOW – “The Chase”
PLANET OF THE APES – “Preparing for Battle”
BIG FISH – “The Journey Home”
CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY – “Finale”
CORPSE BRIDE – “The Piano Duet”
ALICE IN WONDERLAND – “Alice Reprise #5”

It may get a smidge redundant from post to post… But these are my favs…. apart from the “Classic” tracks of course.

Yes but this is Avril Lavigne’s ALICE which I believe was played at the beginning of the end credits.

According to the academy rules, if I remember correctly, an original song has to be during the movie or has to be the first song in the end credits to be nominated in that category.

    Oh well.

It’ll still be cool to see him there. The GGs are soooo laid back compared to every other award show… excluding the Grammys which SUCK!!

UGH… I love THE SOCIAL NETWORK. It’s probably my favorite movie of the year so far… and I liked the score. I bought it and still listen to it.

I think it is possible it will get a nomination, but I don’t think it’s That Great. I don’t know why, maybe it’s me as a musician thinking it is more artful when you compose for an orchestra rather than a techno score. I really really hope TSN doesn’t get a nomination or better yet win(best score I mean)!

From what I’m hearing, this seems a little different. I really like the groove in the “TOUCH” and “THE TRUTH” samples.

Exciting. I hope it is different from what Elfman has done semi-recently. Not that it would be bad if it wasn’t, just that I would like something new.

That’s pretty exciting. I love A FEW GOOD MEN(never seen the play though) and THE WEST WING and I had to see THE SOCIAL NETWORK 3 times! Now Sorkin is working on this. I’m pumped! I hope this comes to reality(Broadway) while I’m at college up here in Boston.

You have to buy the book to get a code to download the movie! The trailer is on the site. I’m intrigued! Looks cool!

    Thanks for the heads up!

    Rebel,

You should look into attending really soon.. Last year when I lived in Texas, FORT WORTH SYMPHONY concert tickets sold out so fast when it was announced he was conducting… If they’re still available, buy your tickets now!

Well if you’re ever in Boston, The Boston Pops has no shame in playing him every year. I heard them today actually, they played STAR WARS and HARRY POTTER. Pretty fun!

And of course, Williams is everywhere nowadays conducting. I hear he’s in Pittsburgh soon.

Sorry, no one likes Elfman I guess.. at least not in the concert hall… then again, he’s not always a concert hall friendly composer.

Danny has rarely ever conducted. I think he conducted a piece on CHARLOTTE’S WEB and he was credited for conducting the PSYCHO remake, but other than that, he DOES NOT conduct.

He has stated in interviews that he thinks conducting is a very different talent!

So, one of the last places you’ll find him is in the concert hall conducting his old scores.

Better luck with John Williams and the Boston Pops.

God! I thought this would never happen! I hope I go out to LA sometime next summer to see it! It sounds like a really cool Idea..

I wonder what Danny’s contribution exactly was? It said “original” score… so would it all be brand new… or will he quote other film music? Who knows? Sounds cool. Thanks for posting!

“Farewell” is probably my favorite! BOINGO ALIVE was the first CD set I bought of the group! It’s sort of a best of and has the best(cleanest) recordings of their best works! Those are great CDs and worth it!

I haven’t listened to all of their stuff but so far my favorite studio album is DARK AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL. It’s got some pretty cool songs on it.

    Good luck!

I’m just as big of a Batman fan as the next guy… I have some comics in my room to prove it! But this is dumb!

You could get 1,000,000,000 signatures and it wouldn’t work. Tim Burton would never revisit it. Michael Keaton is just getting back in the loop of things, bringing back his old comedy roots with THE OTHER GUYS and such, he would never do it. WB isn’t dumb. Christopher Nolan isn’t dumb. And to top it off, BATMAN BEYOND was a lame ass show(compared to B:TAS)! This is a stupid idea!

Good luck with your signatures though! :)
