I believe Amazon is 256 VBR.
November 18, 2010 at 6:53 pm #66209John MullinParticipantRight, the files I got from Amazon range from 220 to 252.
November 18, 2010 at 10:16 pm #66211DannyBikerParticipantOh for the love of God, Amazon.com mp3 store is US only. This is just asking for illegal download…
November 18, 2010 at 10:17 pm #66212ddddeeeeParticipantI’m still getting the CD-R for collectings sake. Not that I actually have another option.
November 18, 2010 at 11:38 pm #66214Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterIt’s available worldwide on iTunes. Please don’t mention downloads. Thanks!
November 19, 2010 at 10:01 am #66216ddddeeeeParticipantUgh. What’s wrong?
November 19, 2010 at 10:59 am #662179fingeredElfParticipantMe to. This is the message I got:
Hello from Amazon.com.

http://www.amazon.comNovember 19, 2010 at 11:33 am #66218ddddeeeeParticipantAmazon won’t let me buy it because I’m not from America, it’s not on the UK website. Same with iTunes.
November 20, 2010 at 1:50 am #66219Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterIt is probably tied to the release date in your country. Such is life living in the UK/Europe. Take the good with the bad!
November 20, 2010 at 11:01 pm #66221D-BoParticipantAnyone know what the deal is with this? On IMDb, Alberto Iglesias is listed alongside Elfman as a composer for the film. Saw the movie today, and there might have been a couple spots that weren’t quite as “Elfman” as rest, but I’m not certain. Thoughts?
November 20, 2010 at 11:29 pm #66222ddddeeeeParticipantHe was fired from the movie supposedly, what you heard was all Elfman.
November 21, 2010 at 6:17 am #66223Ryan KeaveneyKeymasterNo Alberto Iglesias in the entire picture. Danny wrote all the score. The licensed tracks/songs are as follows:

November 22, 2010 at 8:04 pm #66227adminParticipantDanny’s i-Tunes biography lists his hometown as Amarillo! Hilarious. I thought that rumour had died years ago.
November 23, 2010 at 4:40 pm #66232BGMurphy2010ParticipantWhich song is it that is played while Crowe is packing his equipment for the escape? It was a song with lyrics but I can’t figure out what it was. Perhaps one of the Moby songs?
Thanks.
By the way, the movie was, in my opinion, much better than most reviews and more thought provoking than Taken or other films like it.
Brilliant score.

November 23, 2010 at 4:51 pm #66233ddddeeeeParticipantNovember 25, 2010 at 5:19 am #66242lonzoeParticipantWhat did anyone think of the movie ? That is those who’ve seen it. I was one of the few who saw it last weekend.
SPOILERS
I thought it was good. Eventhough I didn’t agree with some of the decisions Crowe made before breaking his wife out of jail. I also think Crowe gave a very believable and realistic performance. This is what a normal man would do to break his wife out of jail. He even has nervous breakdowns (well almost anyway) before he makes a move to breakout is wife. He isn’t Jason Bourne or any other action hero you see today he felt like an average joe who’s a professor at a community college, which is exactly who he is in the movie. I also like how the previews made it look like he was a professional at this and knew what he was doing. When really he’s in way over his head and made a lot of mistakes before he actually attempted to breakout his wife. Elizabeth banks also gave a good performance and not the usual comedic roles that she’s usually offered. I thought it was well made. Haggis’s direction was fine. I wouldn’t mind seeing it again. Elfman wrote what was appropriate for the movie. I wouldn’t mind purchasing the album to this.
Happy Thanksgiving Elfmanites.
November 26, 2010 at 8:29 am #66244MonsterheadParticipantThat is a UK release date.
November 26, 2010 at 4:56 pm #66245ddddeeeeParticipantYou can still order it. I don’t live in the UK.
November 28, 2010 at 5:01 pm #66250MonsterheadParticipantYeah, so it looks like the actual CD was cancelled. Looks like I will be ordering that UK release after all…
November 28, 2010 at 11:53 pm #66251bookbinder3ParticipantI love “Breakout”, brilliant strings, hint of Charlie’s “Up and Out” at one point.
I haven’t listened to the whole thing yet, but none of the other traks really jump out at me yet…mostly tones and electronics, and some harp borrowed from Red Dragon.
“The Truth” is interesting, though….very….contemporary.November 30, 2010 at 6:43 am #66260TenderLumplingParticipantBut, sorry, these “Good Will Hunting” and “Simple Plan” type scores are just boring Oscar-bait nonsense.
If you think those scores were Elfman trying to get an Oscar, you’re absolutely wrong.
December 26, 2010 at 4:18 pm #66602ddddeeeeParticipantNow available to pre-order.
