I’d definitely be interested in seeing it when it stops in Toronto!
Between the 2 stops in PA, Brooklyn, and Toronto it seriously just makes a circle around me — couldn’t they just stop in the middle and save me 3-6 hours of driving?!
But yeah, Toronto is closest for me, and I’d love to see it!

I’m loosely familiar with ‘Carnival’ but I’d love to hear it again. Can anyone reccomend a particular recording / album as being a top-notch rendition?

I’m insanely curious to see what Burton and Depp could do with ‘Sweeney’, but there’s no denying that ‘Ripley would give us a better chance for an amazing score. I expect Elfman’s ORIGINAL contributions to ‘Sweeny’ will ammount to about the same extent as his work on ‘Chicago’ — some transitional music between scenes and during montages.
But I’d love to be proven wrong … especially since I’m ASSUMING Burton’s version of ‘Sweeney’ is still a musical … right?

The movie TITLE is “Far and Away.” The piece used in the tv spot is an excerpt from ‘The Land Race’, cd track 15, by John Williams.

Nope, but it is a lovely piece of classical music . . .

“Carnival of the Animals” – Movement 7: Aquarium (Saint-Saëns)
    “Far and Away” (Williams)
and then a very brief bit of “Edward Scissorhands” (you know who)

The CD contains “Wonka’s Welcome Song” and the 4 Oompa Loompa songs. I ASSUME they’re the CD versions, but I didn’t buy it, so I don’t know for sure. The case design is kinda fun, though. :P
Too bad it’s only packaged with the 1-disc DVD, otherwise I might’ve succumbed to the Wal*Mart evil and bought it there if it had been pacakged with the 2-disc.

I would definetely remove it. They’re probably planning to officially release sheet music sometime soon, and don’t want it available for free. Which makes sense, sorta, despite how long and hard you worked on it. :-/ Sucks, but thanks for doing it in the first place anyways!

    Similar thing for me.
Checked Best Buy, Borders (2 of ’em!), Wal*Mart, Circuit City, FYE (2 of ’em!), Hot Topic, and finally found it at Media Play.
It’s always such a process / adventure to track down scores day-of-release.

Just wanted to point out that there’s a very very short video clip of (excerpts from an) interview with Elfman about the Charlie songs at:

Indeed. Besides “NmBC”, “The Stepford Wives” is the only other piece I recognized. (Although now that “Unfortunate Events” was mentioned, I’m slapping myself for not recognizing it).
Hear a sample of “The Stepford Wives” unreleased score at http://www.davidarnold.com > Media > The Stepford Wives Waltz
