ParticipantYou just gotta love making 4 posts in a row, but in case you missed this, it will be on VH1 again today at 4:30pm ET.

ParticipantHe’s winning this for sure. Look at the competition and the amount of nominations Desperate Housewives got. Too bad they snubbed Nicolette.
I sure hope it sweeps and that awful Everybody Loves Raymond wins nothing.
Danny Burton
ParticipantOh, the Making of Special is on HBO right now and it had Danny for like 5 seconds.
Danny Burton
ParticipantOh, and get your tapes ready, according to VH1’s website it’s rerunning next Sat. 16th at 2:30am ET.
Danny Burton

ParticipantWho the hell shops at real stores anymore?
Mine arrived today from Amazon.

ParticipantI think he looks a lot better [seems he lost some weight] than, say, the special features in the Spider-Man 2 DVD, where he lookes like he’s 80.
Danny Burton
ParticipantI love that font so much! What’s it called?
Danny Burton
ParticipantI wonder why John Williams didn’t do the same thing to Lucas regarding Revenge of the Sith after the hackjob they did with his AOTC score.
Danny Burton
ParticipantWhoops, wrong thread.
Danny Burton
Participant“It doesn’t seem to be a very promising movie. I’m expecting to see just another “Racing Stripes” kind of deal.”
I’ve been thinking the exact same thing for some time now, Spider-Fan.
Does anyone know if it will be a traditional animated film or a CGI one?
Danny Burton
ParticipantWow, that was harsh. It must’ve been really ugly what went down between Danny and Raimi [or Sony?] for him to say “I could care less.”
Oh well, I hope at least they keep his themes.

Participant“The cue that makes me well up and weep is right around where Edward is sitting down and the sheep dog sits beside him and he cuts the hair away from his eyes. It’s an ‘sad-irish spring’ sounding moment that reoccurs in other Elfman work such as Black Beauty and Mission Impossible.”
Is that during “Edwardo the Barber”?
If so, can you point out exactly when that bit occurs? I’m curious.

ParticipantHey!
Why was my post mentioning my favorite tracks from the album deleted? What did I say there?
Danny Burton
ParticipantSOMEBODY GO WITH A TAPE RECORDER!!!
Danny Burton
ParticipantI just wanted to add that the more I listen to this score, the more I’m convinced had this been composed by Zimmer or Horner it sure as hell would’ve been nominated for an Oscar.
Agh.
Danny Burton
ParticipantWell, it wasn’t lucky exactly.
There’s a very easy way to get it online, but I don’t think Ryan would like me posting that.
Danny Burton
ParticipantIt’s in Family Man too.
Can someone explain to me exactly what this Weepie Donuts thing is? Is it some kind of inside joke?
I’ve tried a google search and got nothing.
Danny Burton
ParticipantMEHH!
Why didn’t they keep the GREAT theme from the old cartoon show.
And what is it with adding chorus to EVERYTHING lately?
Danny Burton
ParticipantSomeone had links up at Blunt’s message board, but all of them are dead already

ParticipantI just found this post over at the FSM boards:

I’ll be speaking with Danny about Charlie and Corpse this week for FSM and will let you know if anything new and amazing comes to light. The Elfman / Burton collaboration has produced some of the more enduring scores of the past 20 years, and it’s amazing that these two releases are moving Elfman’s music to the forefront only months apart. You do sort of have to wonder if this high profile year will garner Elfman a little awards attention… but I sorta get the feeling he still doesn’t care about that much.
Can’t wait to hear the works, especially Corpse. If CDs could be worn down, my Nightmare Before Christmas disc would be nothing but a nub by this point.

ParticipantThank you!

ParticipantOh, don’t tease and TELL!

ParticipantQ: Batman is a franchise that Danny Elfman has already given a hugely memorable theme to. What is it like when you are expected to take that music forward?
HZ: I don’t have a Batman theme. I didn’t watch the movie again, on purpose. And, when James (Newton Howard, his co-composer) and I were working in the studios, Danny was in the other room working on (Tim Burton’s) Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. So we’d kid around, and I’d ask if he wants to help with some bat-stuff. And he’d laugh and say, ‘I’ve already done it. It’s your problem now.’
It is going to be compared with his work, but I can’t help that. It’s not a fair comparison. Like when The Beatles are compared to The Stones: they may both be singing a lovesong, but that’s about all they have in common. And this is a Christopher Nolan film, which just happens to be called Batman. And that makes it completely separate from a Tim Burton film.

For some reason, I always had the impression Danny and Zimmer were not very fond one of the other. Oh well.
Danny Burton
ParticipantI know!
If only someone would make an mp3 of it *winkD-Bowink*
