ParticipantThey were using Shirley Walker as temp music, so they probably wanted a sound like that instead of the usual Zimmer crap. Besides…even though WB “claims” it takes place between Begins and TDK it probably won’t be canon. Just like the Animatrix. They aren’t gonna put restrictions like that on Nolan and future filmmakers.

ParticipantRemember when WB released the Ani-Matrix which took place in between the first movie and the two sequels? Well…they are doing the same with Batman. They are releasing a Batman anime that takes plain in-between Begins and Dark Knight. I don’t know if they are using the Zimmer score but the video leaked on YouTube was using Shirley Walker material as temp music.

Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantWell…Elfman composed Hellboy 2 which comes out in July. So…that answers your questions.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantYes, because storyboards aren’t what animators use for direction. Sorry for the sarcasm. He designed the characters and got credits for, but he also did storyboards. Doing a storyboard for a cartoon is basically an animator. Burton may not have animated the final product, but the people who did used his storyboards as a guide. They didn’t just sit down with a script and draw whatever they wanted. They had the storyboards that were telling them what to do.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantHe did storyboards and character designs. Sounds like an animator to me.
Descent Into Mystery
Participant`92, I believe, was the year the Family Dog TV show premiered. Family Dog, the Amazing Stories episode, aired sometime between Pee-Wee and Beetlejuice. Burton did some tv work in-between those two movies including directing an episode of Amazing Stories. He directed the episode titled The Jar.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantJohn Williams did the opening credits. The music on the actual episode belongs to Elfman. The episode was written and directed by Brad Bird with artwork by Tim Burton and produced by Steven Spielberg. I can’t remember the year but it was sometime in the late `80s.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantJackson didn’t “reject” the score. That is a strong word. They just couldn’t agree. It didn’t end in a feud or whatever. They’ll work again. You’ll see.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantThere’s no Raimi-Elfman situation between Jackson and Shore. They just had a disagreement during Kong and thats it. It wasn’t like Spidey 2 where Elfman and Raimi got pissed at each other.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantPeter Jackson may not be directing, but he’s still involved with the project. Howard Shore will return.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI doubt Elfman will be involved. Howard Shore is very likely to return.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI’m happy with the old CD. What we need is a new Batman CD. The old one is also great, but there’s certain cues I wanna own, damn it. I want the cue when Batman crashes the art museum/restaurant and rescues Vicki. I also want the cue that follows the first appearence of the batmobile.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI think they have interest. Recently they re-released the DVD with a new cover.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantUniversal needs to release a special edition DVD. With the success of the Spider-Man franchise I’m surprised they haven’t done this already.
Descent Into Mystery
Participantsucks
Descent Into Mystery
Participantlol. Thats a good point. Danny has composed MANY huge box office hit movies.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantNolan’s Batman and the animated series from Bruce Timm and Paul Dini are not the same. The Timm/Dini Batman was less theatrical than Burton’s Batman but it still had a lot of fantasy elements. I mean…remember the episodes with Man-Bat, Clay Face, etc? Those are characters you’ll never see in Nolan’s world.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantYea. Elfman doesn’t have time. Both Hellboy 2 and Wanted are being released around the same time as Hancock.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantOf course there will be some over the top and fantastical stuff, but Nolan wants his Batman grounded. Unlike Burton who had a more theatrical Batman,
