Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantSimpsons Theme (Orchestral Version)
So, what is the “non orchestral version”?!
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI guess I’m the only one who liked the movie. As for the music…Young’s symbiote/black suit theme was pretty good. But, Elfman would have done better.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantYeah, I heard it opened May 1st in many countries. Well I’ll be watching the film at midnight on May 3rd (may 4th to be exact) so I guess we’ll discuss the film and music then.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantYou saw the film already, Bloom?
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI heard Steve Bartek got an orchestrator credit on the film.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantShould be interesting…if true!
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantNice to see others who like it. I know people who dislike it. Heck, even the guy who writes reviews for this site wasn’t too crazy about the score.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantWe’re less than a week away from Spidey 3! Anyone else excited?
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantPlanet Terror was AWESOME.
Death Proof SUCKED!
Thats all I’ll say.Descent Into Mystery

Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantThe first I hear of Shirley conducting Pee-Wee. HOWEVER, there was some other guy conducted Pee-Wee that apparently wasn’t getting along with Danny and Steve. I remember reading about that in a Steve Bartek interview.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantDidn’t Elfman and Bartek not get along with Lennie Niehaus? I read that somewhere.

Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantHow many orchestrators did he have in Meet the Robinsons? Cause in Batman he only had one and that was Steve Bartek. Its true that Shirley Walker did some additional orchestration but it was mostly Steve. The same applies to Nightmare!
But, anyway, I was just wondering…that is all. Danny’s music is STILL GREAT but you can’t deny it was better back in the day. As great as Spidey is it doesn’t top Batman. As great as Corpse Bride was it doesn’t top Nightmare. As great as Charlotte’s Web was it doesn’t top Black Beauty.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantRemember in 1990 when Elfman composed FOUR movies? Edward Scissorhands, Darkman, Nightbreed, and Dick Tracy! So, I don’t think time has anything to do with it!
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantYou’re watching Spider-Man 1 on TBS right now, huh? lol. Yeah, costume montage is like my favorite track in the soundtrack.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantDoes anyone know why Elfman decided to bring in additional orchestrators?
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI haven’t heard anything!
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantSome of the comments have been kinda confusing. You are aware that all I did was add some Elfman’s music to some of the IGN clips. Here’s the link to the clips with what Young composed: http://iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2319&Itemid=99
Well, anyway, I tried adding some Elfman to the Peter vs. Harry fight and it was VERY difficult but check it out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfYKCCTE_C4
and let me know what you think.
