No, they are not. The DVD menus are rather different.
Nick ParkerParticipantI am sure you are not. The only reason I do not have both is because the first release went out of print before I got the chance.
Nick ParkerParticipantLast year’s release, the Two-Disk Collector’s Edition. I have no idea if the previous release had these snippets of music or not.
Nick ParkerParticipantThat is what I did as well, but I just felt guilty for doing it… Man, a Danny Elfman video game score would be awesome!
Nick ParkerParticipantThat is really cool! Who did score it, I am wondering? I remember suffering through the Spider-Man 3 game thinking, “I wish the composer used Danny Elfman’s themes….”
Nick ParkerParticipantI will be holding you to that!
(Currently listening to “Rooftops”)
Nick ParkerParticipantOkay, I bought it for $16.00. I hope it is as good as you guys say….
Nick ParkerParticipantOh, now I want to get that score…but Italian instincts are…taking …over…must save…money…oh, fine, I am going to check the prices. Happy?
Nick ParkerParticipantBecause there is the occasional Danny Elfman score I dislike, namely Proof of Life and The Kingdom, and “Revenge” seemed to indicate a similar feel. I am not a fan of that “Rock” sound, and if I do purchase Wanted, I doubt “Revenge” would be a cue that I would often listen to. However, if the score is apparently similar to Mission: Impossible, then means only good things for me….
(Currently listening to “Reunion in the Tent/ Searching for the Well”)
Nick ParkerParticipantHm, I listened to samples of Wanted. Is the majority of the score simiiar in terms of tone and orchestration to “Revenge”? If so, I think I will find it best to pursue Standard Operating Procedure instead….
Nick ParkerParticipantHow dare you dash my hopes and dreams?
Nick ParkerParticipantI would not be disheartened if Tyler Bates never scores another film.
Nick ParkerParticipantExcellent, a recording in London means no re-use fees, which means a longer album!
Nick ParkerParticipantThat is the thing, I do not know what to expect of Danny Elfman. I have learned from past experiences that the only thing I can expect from Danny Elfman is “the unexpected”, to use the cliched phrase.
But since you mentioned those scores, I will say this: I have not listened to Wanted, so I cannot comment on that, but I hope Danny Elfman does not use “The Kingdom approach”, as that is my least-favorite score by Danny Elfman.
And I sincerely apologize if I have been acting in a frustrating manner.
Nick ParkerParticipantForgive me for misinterpreting your question, then. Comprehension is not one of my strongest assets, it seems.
My answer remains, however. Danny Elfman is a far more capable composer than I, so I will leave the score-imagining to him….
Nick ParkerParticipantForgive me for misinterpreting your question, then. Comprehension is not one of my strongest assets, it seems.
To answer the question, then, the answer is still “No”.
Nick ParkerParticipantI suspected that as well, but the film was originally going to be released in February, was it not? This is just partially baseless speculation, of course, but could Danny Elfman have written some music for an early cut of the film? You are probably right, but who knows?

Would this be a sampling of Danny Elfman’s score, I am wondering? If so, I like it.
Nick ParkerParticipantAssuming you are asking a serious question: No, I cannot hear it.
Nick ParkerParticipantHm, I am not really either, and I have never been fond of Superman, but I will still see it as it seems to be very lauded.
Nick ParkerParticipantI live in a very densly populated are know to some as “Reno”, so we do not get those kind of special theaters, very unfortunately.
Nick ParkerParticipantYou are absolutely correct.
Nick ParkerParticipantSometimes I wish that I lived one state closer to the west. A film with a great Danny Elfman score and a film with a great John Williams score…by the way is “Superman:The Movie” good?
Nick ParkerParticipantI certainly was upset about it. The recording sessions rectified that to an extent, but I would prefer something legitimate.
Nick ParkerParticipantI can list a multitude of music that was not on the CD.
The music when Spider-Man confronts Doc Ock for the final time
“Happy Montage”
The burning building scene
The music when Peter attempts to attend the play, only to have two robbers delay him.
The music when Doc Ock’s experiment goes horribly awry was not released on the albumThere is quite a bit more, but I do not think I need to pester you with the rest.
