A sneak-peak at the how the recording is coming along, complete with a sound cliip!:
What do you mean, you just got the CD? Is there a CD for WANTED computer game? Or are you talking about the regular WANTED soundtrack?
I seriously can’t remember. It was probably around 1992 or 1993 or thereabouts (I was a teenager of some 15-16 years and consequently a bit older than most of you guys). I had been interested in film music (and esp. Williams) for at least a year after a gradual musical evolution that you can read about here:

I liked his whole dark/burlesque/quirky style.
However, I’m pretty confident that although I had been aware of him for quite a while, NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS was my first Danny soundtrack. I remember buying Goldsmith’s CONGO first, then being disappointed in it and running back to the store and swapping it with NIGHTMARE. Haven’t regretted it since.
It’s no doubt that the Elfman theme – at least the first part of it – lends itself easily to a metal version. However, this was not a particularly good metal version, IMO. Skimpy and off-meter percussion, rather amateurish guitar playing too.
Hey, sorry to hear that it had come to this for you, but I understand all about making one’s priorities in life, so I sympathize completely. I think many of the members here already have most of those, but good luck with your sale!
I’ve now listened to it, and it’s pretty nice. The only thing I missed was MORE of his DJ’ing and less talk about MILK. I know it’s the “hot” thing in his life right now, with the Oscar nomination and everything, but it’s really far more interesting to hear him talk about his past or what music he likes. The old 90’s show was much better in that way.
Danny returns to that show, eh? I loved his last performance there in the late 90’s or thereabouts. Thanks.

Yup, it’s from SOMMERSBY. To my knowledge, Elfman has never written a specially composed logo theme for anything. One of the few things he HASN’T done yet.
Standard embarassing red carpet-interview where Danny is showered in kudos from ignorant, but goodlooking woman!
By the way, I hadn’t realized that Danny was balding so much. Not a big deal and quite natural for a guy in his 50’s….just an observation I did when he turns away from the interview.
And with the WANTED director involved as well, this is a kinda double connection. I assume it’s just a matter of conflicting schedules or simply that Danny wants to try his hands at other idioms. Who’s the composer?

I’m interested in the Oscar ceremony, but only because of the stars – to see them live and interact with each other. That’s it. The prizes themselves mean nothing. I’m in it for the PARTY!
Cripes…I remember this interview vaguely, but didn’t read it properly untill now. Some really nasty language there. Is it for real?
I’m not sure I’m that keen on Burton using lots of motion-capture animation in ALICE, if that is indeed true. If it’s just a character or two, like Gollum in LORD OF THE RINGS, it”s OK. But not too much.
Nice version. I just wish they’d credited Elfman. I’m sure the audience thought Amy Lee wrote it herself.
Geez…enough with the NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS reissues, remixes, re-interpretations and re-rerecordings already!
