ParticipantYes, I noticed Richard’s Facebook posts. She most certainly had an interesting and full career, and the fact that she started late is an inspiration to me, who is very much trying the same now at age 39.
Thor
ParticipantI don’t have any interest in expansions, but there’s a whole bunch of unreleased scores that I wish someone looked into.
Thor
ParticipantHey Thor, that’s what the “Freshness” column is for on the message list page. It will indicate time and date of last post. Clicking that will bring you to the last post in each thread.
That’s true. But I sometimes forget how many days it’s been since I last logged on, so something to indicate new posts would be great, if at all feasible.
Also, is there a direct ‘quote’ function? I just now copy/pasted your reply, and then put them in the ‘quote’ tags available at the bar on top of the comments field.
Thor
ParticipantA question: Why is there no icon or anything, suggesting what threads have new posts since the last time?
Thor
ParticipantOK, after some minor troubles, I made it. I’m in!
The board is looking good. Lots of SPACE around everything, but I’ll get used to it.
Thor
ParticipantIndeed. Also love all the winkie emoticons after each director’s name in Ryan’s post!
Thor
ParticipantIt’s soon February. Any more news on a CD release of this?
Thor
ParticipantI do like the music from WISDOM (the Tangerine Dream vibe in some tracks here are really unique in Elfman’s oeuvre), but I’m generally opposed to expanded releases. I think the existing soundtrack is fine.
Thor
ParticipantI could have scanned the booklet for you if I’d had the equipment, Doctor Dash. Alas, I do not.
Any reason you didn’t pick this up when it was released?
Thor
ParticipantThere are indeed some interesting tidbits of information in the GOOD WILL HUNTING booklet, so I suggest that if you are writing a thesis on it — buy the disc! Perhaps you’ll get the costs covered by the institution for which you’re writing.
Good luck!

ParticipantThanks for this, ddddeee!
I’ll continue to store these albums under Elfman solo, and listen to them that way, but it’s always interesting with some behind-the-scenes elements.
Sadly (depending on how you view it), Buckley’s “Bliss” is the best track on the FIFTY SHADES soundtrack.
Thor
ParticipantFor anyone interested:
I’ve ripped the main and end credits from the film (which are really the only stretches in the film without dialogue or sound effects), totalling 7 minutes. Will have to do untill someone does an official release.
Thor
ParticipantMost definitely a joke. Perhaps referencing the NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS ordeal.
Thor
ParticipantInteresting choices. I don’t quite read “Christmas” into any of those, but we all have our individual associations to the holiday season and its music.
Thor
ParticipantYeah, I know it’s hard to get, but at least you have the two tracks on the official album. If you ever find the promo, it has some Christmassy tracks.
Thor
ParticipantJust watched it; it’s pretty much Danny doing his post-Serenada schtick, but that’s OK with me. I love that schtick. Not sure what is Elfman and what are the two other guys, but all of it bears Danny’s mark.
Thor
ParticipantSpeaking of which, if you want a full discography of Boingo in movies, check out this feature I did for FSM a few years back (I know that it’s missing some now, like AMERICAN DAD):

ParticipantSomething from THE FAMILY MAN?
Thor
ParticipantWow, fantastic! Thanks, man.
Thor
ParticipantAnyone?

ParticipantHi 9FingeredElf — nice to see you pop in here. What happened to the ol’ Elfman Zone board?
You have a good collection.
I think I have pretty much everything Elfman and Oingo Boingo and Mystic Knights ever did (at least that’s available in some form — bootleg or otherwise), plus a poster of MODERN VAMPIRES signed by both Danny and Richard. There are still some completely unreleased items that have never seen the light of day in either legal or illegal format, however. And then I have some 5-6 of his recent scores to buy in physical format, even if I own them in digital file format.
You may be missing some individual pieces that don’t have their own CD release yet; some of those ‘between-gigs’ thingies he often does, but it’s hard to know from just looking at the photos. I’d need to see a list.
Since we’re all sharing photos and stuff, here’s a pic I made of my CD collection with the sections marked out. However, it’s only about 60% of my collection; the rest is in file format:

ParticipantHas anyone been able to rip the audio from this in decent quality? It would have been nice to have in audio format.
(same goes for the Oscar music, but I understand that is more tricky to rip).
Thor
ParticipantThis is one of those times I wish limited editions were available on iTunes, so I could download just the tracks I wanted — in this case the “Reprise” (the aria I’ve had for years, as I’m sure have most of you).
Thor
ParticipantIt’s a great score, and I’m glad it’s getting back in circulation again (I understand it’s hard to find these days), but as those of you who know me might surmise, I’m more than set with the original album (which they also include here). I have no interest in the complete score.
Thor
ParticipantIt’s an excellent score. The two tracks on the commercial release (previously mentioned) are really the best tracks in the whole score — so good choice, at least, if you only include two tracks — but the promo version is the one to get.
I even got designer Jim Titus (now a reknown album designer) to make me a cover for this, back when I got it on a shoddy CD-R.
