Includes interviews with Horner, conductor/composer David Newman and concert producer Sandra Tomek. We also play many of the ACTUAL cues from the concert, the concert recordings. This is a must-listen, IMO!
AND it’s in English.

ParticipantYeah, I like what I’m hearing.
More of the delicious, Glass-like minimalism we heard in STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE — which, incidentally, is one of my favourite Elfmans in the last 10 years.

BATMAN: MASK OF THE PHANTASM (Shirley Walker)August 17, 2013 at 10:20 pm in reply to: Was Elfman meant to score Wes Craven’s New Nightmare at one point? #62022Thor
ParticipantI seem to vaguely have heard that story before, but don’t know if there’s any truth to it.
The actor you’re thinking of is probably Bodhi Elfman, right — Richard’s son? He’s not only Jenna Elfman’s husband, but a reasonably famous guy in Hollywood now. He had a leading role as a rabbi in the Kiefer Sutherland series TOUCH — which was cancelled prematurely (pretty good show!).
Thor
ParticipantIf I’d known the extra dates, I would have gone to Glasgow instead of London. I’ve always wanted to visit Scotland (and Glasgow + Edinburgh). Oh well.

I just realized he’s 2 1/2 weeks younger than my own mother, who celebrated her 60th earlier this month.
You know what they say….life starts at 60!
Thor
ParticipantCoincidence? I think not.

Thor
ParticipantYes, the list of his unreleased work outside the film business is piling up — especially in recent years.
Thor
ParticipantI just realized that music clip is indeed from the Burton MOMA exhibtion. However, the score proper seems to be originally written (just watch a couple of other videos from the app game on Youtube).
Thor
ParticipantThat’s very cool….very much in the style of ThePianoGuys on youtube. The playing was a bit too staccato, but by God….still a great performance. And yes….that girl. Very hot.
Thor
ParticipantI really dig this album. The 10-minute recording session track is particularly interesting, althoug mostly as a curiousity.
Thor
ParticipantYeah, I got my ticket yesterday! Can’t believe this is actually happening!
February 18, 2013 at 10:18 pm in reply to: Danny Elfman at the Royal Albert Hall, Oct. 7 2013 #39183Thor
ParticipantThe concert is now sold out, except for some seats with obstructed views.
Thor
ParticipantI got my ticket too, although I’ve been at work, so by the time I got home the best seats were taken.
I’m on the floor, 10 rows from the stage (A 10).
Thor
ParticipantThanks! A string quartet, eh? I hope it gets recorded somehow. The list of unreleased Elfman works (especially outside the film music arena) is getting longer every year.
