ParticipantI totally understand, ryan.
I don’t mean to sound like a kiss up and I know I won’t get any charlie track links out of it … (It’s painful, yes, but I can wait until tuesday), I just wanted to thank you for the lengths you go to to maintain the integrity of this board.

ParticipantHmm… what is this proverbial giant you speak of?
Seams beating isn’t getting anyone anywhere.beth
Participant“The suspense is terrible…. I hope it’ll last.”
actually… no.

Participantyeah and he’s already got the smile down, even without reconstructive surgery.

ParticipantOh, Spider-Fan, don’t be sad. There will be other great things. Not the same, but great in their own right.
I first became interested in Danny Elfman through Oingo Boingo and that didn’t last forever, but it didn’t mean the end of Incredible Danny Stuff!I feel for you, man, and acknowledge your pain.

ParticipantI saw the trailer on the “big screen” when I took my kids to see Robots. It looked really (!) good up there!
Just thought I’d share. Move along folks, there’s nothing to see here.
As you were.beth
Participantand while you’re at it, Ryan, make me some eggs, over medium!

ParticipantII think I read somewhere that the title of the project has been changed to “Brave New Rosenberg.”

Participantyeah, but the http://www.oingoboingo.com forum says a whole hell of a lot that has nothing to do with anything.
It’s scary there! You’re a very brave soul for venturing!beth
ParticipantThey play in San Diego quite often, but I just can’t do it. Maybe to someone who didn’t get a chance to see Boingo live it would be cool, but having seen the real thing, I don’t know. Seems kind of weird to try to completely copy Oingo Boingo.

Curious…
What didn’t you like about the trailer? What were you expecting?beth

ParticipantBecause I first saw Forbidden Zone when I was a high schooler, (I won’t tell you how long ago that was), watching it again when it recently came out on dvd was quite the, um… well… experience.
It’s not an important film, no, it’s not even a good film, but it is what it is; that being a piece of Oingo Boingo history. When people say they love the Forbidden Zone and that it’s a great movie, and Richard Elfman is a genius, I always wonder if they say that because they think they have to, to remain a “true” fan.
Watch it. If you don’t enjoy it, forward it to the Danny-Satan part, at the very least. I do enjoy watching the film, but as for your mom, that’s your call. I wouldn’t watch it with *my* mom, but I can assure you that your mom is not like my mom!

Participantpoor danny, what a mess!

ParticipantI am really okay with a more sinister appraoch to that story.
I remember seeing the movie before I read the book, as a kid, and I preferred the book.
If the Oompa Loompas are more freakish this time, I think I’ll feel more complete.-beth

ParticipantThere’s a “making of” documentary with a section about the music. He’s interviewed a bit and there are a few short glimpses of him in the studio. It’s almost two minutes long, all together.
Danny does, in fact, have a Ren and Stimpy t-shirt on.-beth

ParticipantFor those of us actually living in a hole, what’s family guy?
Oh, nevermind, guess I could google it if I wanted to “catch up,” mostly I just wanted to post on the new board.I’m going as Lady Macbeth. Cool, old victorian dress, fake blood on my hands. I’m going to leave red hand prints everywhere I go. Yeah, it’s probably been done before, but that’s as creative as I get these days.
out, out damn spot!
