Descent Into Mystery
Participantwoah.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantHarry Gregson-Williams is scoring Wolverine?! I could have sworn there was another composer attached. Interesting. Although Gregson-Williams is awesome. Definitely looking forward to that score.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantKeaton continues to work. It’s just that he doesn’t care about Hollywood anymore. Instead preferring to do small independent movies. Although he did co-star in that Herbie Fully Loaded movie with Lindsay Lohan. What a shame that was. But, anyway, I would have thought that after working with Helena Bonham Carter in the HBO movie, Live from Baghdad in 2002 he would have re-connected with Burton and they could have done something together. Although, if I recall correctly, Keaton and Chris Walken were Burton’s first two choices for Willy Wonka, but after the success of Pirates the studio asked him to cast Johnny Depp.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantAs much as I would love to see Keaton and Burton working again…I highly doubt it. For some reason, Burton doesn’t seem interested in Keaton anymore. In recent years he was worked again with actors like Jeffrey Jones and Michael Gough but Keaton has been absent. Even though he could have even cast him as a voice talent in Corpse Bride.

ParticipantI never actually bought the previous re-release since I already owned the original CD and didn’t care much for the cover songs. However, if these new covers sound good I wouldn’t mind picking it up. Plus, with a new re-release I guess the old one will sell SUPER cheap since stores have to get rid of them in order to make room for the news ones.
Descent Into Mystery
Participant“Nine” could happen since Elfman already worked with Marhsall on Chicago.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantHad Elliot Goldenhal not been involved, I think Elfman would have been great for Public Enemies. The Michael Mann movie about John Dillinger starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantHoly Crap! You’re right. I heard it as well. Must of been a nod.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantFirst I hear of it.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantYou’re right. The results are great and I hope to see them work more in the future, but four movies in a roll is too much. There’s other actors that would be nice to see in a Burton movie.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI’m starting to get a little tired of these Burton-Depp collaborations. Is he ever gonna work again with Michael Keaton or Chris Walken or Jack Nicholson or any of his previous collaborators? What about Ewan Mcgregor (or however you spell his name)? He was great in Big Fish. Or what about Tim Roth? I disliked Planet of the Apes, but Roth was great in it. Or, I don”t know, maybe someone he has never worked with before.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantThat’s awesome. A soundtrack of BTAS music should have been released YEARS ago.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantAlthough the Elfman theme in those ads sound slightly re-arranged.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantNot a cereal commerical, but here’s another one:

ParticipantSpeaking of Zimmer, and I’m aware this will upset Ryan, you can listen to the man’s TDK music at the official website: http://www.warnerbrosrecords.com/thedarkknight/
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantDel Toro should have just sticked with Beltrami. He got used to him.
Descent Into Mystery
Participantwow…this is really last moment. Aren’t we like two weeks away? Damn.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantWhat’s the song credit? Is it a Bartek co-production or all Elfman?
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantYea…I’m not too impressed. I like Wanted more
Descent Into Mystery
Participantwhoa. Never expected to double dip. Cool. Too bad the Beetlejuice DVD is gonna suck
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantAll I want is the music when Batman crashed into the art museum/restaurant to save Vicki Vale. And the music you hear when we first see the Batwing.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantZimmer and Howard didn’t actually collaborate on Begins and TDK. They split their duties. In Begins, Howard composed all the ’emotional’ scenes while Zimmer did the generic ‘action’ scenes. And it TDK, based on the interview, it seems like Zimmer did the Joker theme while Howard did the Harvey Dent/Two-Face theme. And I’d imagine the rest of the score is basically recycled music from Begins.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantBatman. Spider-Man. Men in Black. Sounds good to me. I prefer that Elfman over his Kingdom-esque music.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantI just finished reading the entire interview. Let’s begin with what he calls “iconic” music. Whats so iconic about his Begins music? He basically combined The Rock and Pirates. Thats all the Begins music is. Secondly, he talks about having written a traditional theme and throwing it out. I really question that. Why would someone like Zimmer “throw out” music? The man is basically a factory these days. He doesn’t give any real thought or time into his projects. He just composes some generic music and moves on. Anything with substance is most likely written by his army of “additional” composers.
Descent Into Mystery
ParticipantThere doesn’t seem to be any release date attached, so I assume after Frankenweenie and Alice. In other words…sometime in 2011 perhaps.
