KeymasterI don’t know about the international versions, but the NA (US & CANADA) Blu-ray/DVD combo includes the music featurette, while the DVD-only does not. ALICE is precisely why I upgraded to Blu-ray about a month ago

KeymasterThor are you talking about the score or the soundtrack?

KeymasterI’ll never hear Horner’s AVATAR the same after hearing Karl Kenkins’s “Adiemus”. It’s obvious where Horner not only a) stole the theme for MIGHTY JOE YOUNG from, but also b) the vocal stylings for AVATAR.

(live version, to not break the rules of this board! But YouTube has the original recording there too)Ryan Keaveney
Keymaster“Wild” refers to wild track, a piece recorded with the purpose of not fitting into any specific scene, but to be taken from piece by piece if the editors needed music.

KeymasterCheck it out – the score is available on Amazon UK so far, including Elfman’s contribution:

KeymasterIt is not a prequel to Tim Burton’s vision of APES. It is a clean slate.

KeymasterLa-La Land Records has Danny’s TAKING WOODSTOCK score album on sale for only $4.98 — no excuse not to pick this up! 2 weeks only.

Keymaster??? Why would they reuse Danny’s music? A composer will be hired to score this just like any other movie…

KeymasterVideo is dead, and this argument is even deader.

KeymasterBookbinder, I don’t think anyone here can give you a good reason why the titles aren’t on the CD because no one here was involved with the production of the album…!

KeymasterTerrible.

KeymasterI think opening the album with “Alice’s Theme” was a strong statement. It bookends nicely with the final reprise. Slotting in the main titles after “Alice’s Theme” would seem redundant. The titles are more magical in the film than separated anyways.

KeymasterMight be a first — Carter Burwell could return to TWILIGHT after scoring the first and skipping 2, 3!

KeymasterThanks, man! I hope 16 was as good as 15.
“Maybe you’re just a screwed-up sorority chick who’s gettin’ back at her daddy for not buying her that pony when she turned sweet sixteen!”

KeymasterI don’t think either one of those magazines is interested in interviewing anyone who isn’t a) a rock dinosaur or b) of-the-moment “artist”. He has done many longish interviews with Film Score Monthly, all of which are available in the member section (for a fee) of their website. http://www.filmscoremonthly.com/backissues/issues.cfm

KeymasterI don’t get GHOSTBUSTERS as an influence on Elfman.

KeymasterDo I need to link you guys to that site that Googles for you?

KeymasterI’ll never understand why this score was so reviled at the time. I think it’s brilliant from start to finish.

KeymasterI think it’s likely Danny will return. It’s been 8 years since the last one, which means plenty of time for ideas to percolate and perhaps interest him in returning to that great theme.

KeymasterWelcome – thanks for taking the plunge.

KeymasterIt used to be on my Elfman profile (which is probably where you saw it) but YouTube deleted my account (and there went the Elfman vids). I suppose i should have posted endless anime videos and they’d have left me alone.
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterIt was definitely an original piece. Perhaps when the score gets it’s release later this Spring, it’ll be included.
Ryan Keaveney
KeymasterOh that means I’ll hate the movie.

KeymasterDVD and Blu-ray coming June 1, including Blu-ray only featurette: “Scoring Wonderland – Composer Danny Elfman and Tim Burton discuss the music for the movie. “
