KeymasterGood news about the recording, but who is “everybody” who thought the work was too long?

KeymasterHere it is. You’ll need the latest version of Quicktime to view. File is 12mb, Safari users, be patient as the file loads in your browser (I thought Safari had stalled, but the file loaded eventually).
5’43-6’06… Classic!! This is the most jubilant I’ve seen Elfman.

KeymasterI like the part where Elfman sings into his mic in his studio. Surreal!
I’m going to put the featurette online as an mp4, playable on your video iPod!

KeymasterActually the album rights reside with Varese Sarabande. Just because something isn’t commercially released doesn’t make it free or available.

KeymasterLooks great, though I find it distressing that the autographed copies were notched on the spine.

KeymasterI got mine long before the MP3 boom, so it sounds like a true CD copy. The music is worth it at any quality, however. “Nag, nag, nag”!

KeymasterSadly I think this new edition features only new packaging and 6 photo cards with the same features (Burton and Elfman commentaries, vintage EPK interviews, same audio mix) carried over from the previous edition.

I’m waiting for a BEETLEJUICE special edition! It’s too bad Warners couldn’t get it out in time for Halloween.

KeymasterI always thought that was a dig, but I guess positive thinkers can prevail!

KeymasterI think it was merely to give the production some continuity. Calling FOREVER “A Tim Burton Production” is nothing short of scandal!

KeymasterNo clue, but Gillespie instead directed VENOM aka THE REAPER. The bayou slasher that Dimenson recently snuck into theaters last month.

KeymasterI’m pretty sure Scott Smalley would trade up in a heartbeat. Sounds like a bitter guy to me.

KeymasterPray tell how a “private teacher” would know the supposed “truth” behind a score written over fifteen years ago, a “truth” that has never been corroborated by any of the main players who worked on the score?

KeymasterWell it took Elfman and Burton four years to reconcile their differences in time for MARS ATTACKS! Did I ever tell you all the story behind that? It’s fascinating, and totally Burton!

KeymasterAll I have to say is where is Elfman now and where the fuck is Steve Scott Smalley now? Shilling orchestration courses!!

KeymasterWow – he’s only make 10% of what he could be making off THE SIMPSONS syndication… Imagine what 100% would be…

KeymasterI’m going to start deleting these threads because as far as I’m concerned all college professors are perves who drug their students and force them to perform sloppy oral sex.

KeymasterEverything is Elfman’s. I’ll stake everything on it!

KeymasterThere are also some composers credited with writing music for the first disc doc. They may have taken some of Elfman’s material and adapted it, or added on to existing score cues. There is at least one version of “Roof Fight”, I believe, that is totally clean from dialogue and SFX.

KeymasterWal-Mart had a copy of MIDNIGHT RUN for like $3. Bought it, and traded it many years ago for an advance copy of A SIMPLE PLAN. Man, that person made off like a bandit. But I was happy to help them get the CD.
