KeymasterThe listing on her site — the one I created and run — is an error that I haven’t seen until now! Her Filmog is gigantic. I had a lot of problems coding it many years ago.

KeymasterShows what you know — Williams has used a ghostwriter, Fred Steiner, on RETURN OF THE JEDI. Thanks for contributing to the misinformation…

KeymasterAs far as I know Steve Bartek never wrote any music for SPIDER-MAN 2. That was an old piece of misinformation that also had Joseph LoDuca writing material for the film too.

KeymasterDude, it’s Tony Scott!
And Keira…

KeymasterI also bought the anthology (it made more sense to pay $60 for all four then $25 for each single) and am going through the extras. There is about 12-13 minutes of Elfman featurette footage, including some 1992 footage of Elfman demoing a RETURNS cue! I’m now watching BATMAN and listening to Burton’s hilarious commentary. Definitely worth buying.
Like everyone here, I also bought BEGINS. But I think I can go one better… I also bought LAND OF THE DEAD!

KeymasterHey, they used the original logo font. Reminds me of Chris Walken in DOMINO: “They changed the fucking font!!”
In this case, they didn’t.
Well, enough of the tangent.

KeymasterI know there is EPK footage from BATMAN RETURNS because Entertainment Tonight actually ran a report on Elfman’s score back in ’92. I remember it well, Elfman even demonstrated how he did his mock-ups on his synths.

KeymasterWhere Burton and Elfman stand in the Hollywood power structure makes absolutely no difference to how I enjoy their work.

KeymasterI noticed that too. I didn’t order an advance copy, so I can’t say for sure, but it looks like the notch is the same kind labels put into deleted titles to sell them at a discounted price. Music stores are not supposed to sell notched or punched discs for full price. Very bizarre that these autographed CDs are notched…

KeymasterThe lyrics will be printed in the booklet. Buy the CD and you get yer lyrics!

KeymasterIt’s my favorite song too.

KeymasterThe tracks seem out of order. They’ve mislabeled “Victor’s Piano Solo”. The file is actually “According To Plan”. So “Into The Forest” is actually “Victor’s Piano Solo”, next is actually “Into The Forest” not “Remains of the Day”, etc!

KeymasterI believe “Destructo-X” was used in the destruction montage that ends with the Godzilla and television stock shots.

KeymasterWell I pretty much made it plain and clear that it was the filmmaker (Raimi) who was giving Elfman the gears on S-M2. I just didn’t know that Raimi totally flaked on Danny. I knew about the temp-track issue (there is a great story there that will someday be told). I wonder what this means about using Elfman’s themes in S-M3.
And don’t forget that Tim and Danny already had their rift.

KeymasterWow, and Elfman seemed in good spirits. Who knew it was that bad?
He has a lot to look forward this year and next with CORPSE, CHARLOTTE’S and A DAY WITH WILBUR ROBINSON. The man is booked!

KeymasterI’ve uploaded a couple of really bad photos from THE CORPSE BRIDE screening. Keep in mind the Winter Garden Theater is huge and I was on the mezzanine. One shot of Tim Burton is clear, but the two Elfman shots are fuzzzzy.

KeymasterI was there last night

Burton, Mike Johnston, Danny, Helena Bonham-Carter and Johnny Depp were all there.
CORPSE BRIDE is marvellous to look at and the score is gorgeous! The songs really click in the picture. Anyone feeling lukewarm now will be won over once they see the film. “Remains Of The Day” is a showstopper. My favourite score cue is when Victor and his Corpse Bride first return to the Land of The Living. Amazing!

KeymasterI’m pretty sure the label gives a composer a stack of covers and they go through and sign each one.
