Looking at it now, surprised at the number of scoring session photos!
Individual tracks do not indicate what contains “additional music”, but my guess is the Zanelli contribution was at least the use of “Krytpon Theme” from Hans’ MAN OF STEEL, which is not on the disc.
Anyone get their CD copy yet? Mine is sitting in my mailbox. Can’t wait to get my hands on it (yes, I still love this score.)
Well that’s the great thing about being a Danny Elfman fan in 2017 — you can be satisfied by JUSTICE LEAGUE or THE CIRCLE. Either way everyone wins. 🙂
Saw the movie this afternoon and didn’t find it as bad as the critics have made it sound. Yes, weak villain, but this alone can’t sink the picture. I really love the score and have listened to it non-stop since its release. In the film it is often buried, like mentioned before, the single, clear statement of the Batman Theme is buried under a couple of explosions. But the action music is so strident, interesting and energetic that I can’t help but, er, marvel at it.
I would love to see if some alternate sequencing would considerably change the makeup of the score. If I recall “Wonder Woman Rescue” occurs before “Enter Cyborg”, and “Bruce and Diana” is actually before “Cyborg Meets Diana”… or maybe I’m developing memory loss. Elfman usually sequences in film order so perhaps I’m wrong about all of this.
A few thoughts on the score as heard in the film… The first proper cue in the film is “Batman on the Roof”. “Wonder Woman Rescue” is actually longer in the film. It opens with the cue as heard on the album before segueing into a statement of the Wonder Woman theme, before going into someone pretending to write busy action music by Danny Elfman (maybe the Pinar Toprak cue?)
There are two Elfman cues in the end credits — the “Spark of the Flash” motif (not sure which cue it comes from) and “Anti-Hero’s Theme”, which plays in its entirety.
If this score has one thing wrong with it, it’s that it has too many ideas. I think that’s probably a good problem to have?

Got it guys. A board member messaged me a screenshot this morning. I thought it was a board issue but it’s not. There is an older Flash video on the homepage that is causing this (I think it’s the Dark Shadows one.) I’ll remove it today. Looking at the homepage only reminds me how futile the site relaunch is becoming. My wife and I are expecting baby #1 early December so my life has been taken over getting ready! 🙂
I’ve done a scan of the complete website and no alarms. I’ve done some tidying on the admin side, perhaps that will fix it. If you see the pop and can grab a screenshot I’ll send you Danny’s complete rejected score for THE FORCE AWAKENS as reward 😉

Nice to hear a proper mix of this performance. Not sure about the ballet dancers though — hello, there’s amazing music playing, let’s not focus on the people hugging in the aisle! Danny looks so uncomfortable there. LOL.
Had to figure the leak was coming with this slow trickle of tracks on YouTube and the Digital release happening tomorrow. Will be listening to this on Spotify all day. CD is already pre-ordered.
I love the comments on these videos almost as much as the music!

What’s wrong with everyone? Kind of loving this, especially the big Batman Theme moment around 3:33.
No offence to these additional composers but something tells me it’s kind of smoothing over the cracks rather than major set pieces.
I guess when they say “full” it means the program hasn’t been edited to fit the LP. I’m picking up my copy this weekend. Purchased because I need to own it all 🙂
I see a few sources claiming that Danny Elfman hired a string orchestra to sweeten a certain cue for a certain scene, but if I recall the Billboard interview he did this for a demo cue only. Am I misremembering?
