Untamed Aggression
ParticipantI liked For Love of the Game. It’s no classic, but I enjoyed it. Lovely score by Basil Poledouris.
Crimewave is out in Hong Kong on DVD (which is the version I have, the name on the actual print used is The XYZ Murders). The transfer looks like they just took it from a VHS source, though.
It’s also out on R2 in the UK, but I don’t know what the transfer is like. I’m waiting till it’s radically reduced in price before taking a look at it…

ParticipantI love Nightbreed.
TNBC is in constant rotation in my CD player.

Participant“Robert Rodriguez’s expensive, bad CG-filled “The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3-D” was based on a dream his 7 year-old son named Racer had one night after watching — what else — Spider-Man. It’s a damn shame, some people like myself work hard on good screenplays that don’t get looked at.”
C’mon, give the guy some credit. I’ve not seen it yet, so I can’t comment on quality, but
A) The film isn’t that expensive. That’s why he can do experimental stuff like this and Sin City.
I think he earned his keep by selling his body to science to finance El Mariachi.I’ve been writing for 8 years, but I’m not gonna rip into him for being able to make films he wants to make.
On-topic, I agree with the notion that the Spidey 3 situation should be in a summary or FAQ or something…

ParticipantI loved the helicopter cue and the rest of this score. I play it all the time, and I actually used Carnival From Hell in a college project I did.
I know it’s a long shot, but is the helicopter cue available anywhere?

Participant“BTW, isn’t there a script for Beetlejuice 2 online?”
Dunno if it’s online, but my above comment is from the Evening with Kevin Smith DVD, where he tells the tale of how he went into Warner Bros. and was given a choice of three projects to rewrite, one of which was “Beetlejuice Goes Hawaiaan.”
Definitive proof that Hollywood executives are coke fiends.
Untamed Aggression
ParticipantDidn’t we say all we needed to say with the first Beetlejuice?
Must we go tropical?
Untamed Aggression
ParticipantThe Oogie Boogie cover doesn’t really do anything with the song, like the Sandy Claws track, however uncalled for. It’s basically the original version, but synth.
Untamed Aggression
ParticipantWas anyone else reminded of “Money” by the Flying Lizards?

ParticipantY’see, for some reason I always get defensive about Robert Rodriguez.
Personally, I enjoy his scores, I thought the action cues in Spy Kids 3D were pretty shweet, and I liked what he did for Once Upon a Time in Mexico, even though I’ve not actually seen the flick yet.
But sod it, we’re here to talk about Elfman. He rocks.
Untamed Aggression
ParticipantI’m sure they taste lovely
Yum yum.Sorry.
Untamed Aggression
ParticipantActually, Sam Raimi cut his dialogue, which apparently pleased Danny as he thought he was terrible. He had to do a southern accent or something.
There’s some screencaps at my website http://www.samraimi.iofm.net , but I think I refrained from the Katie Holmes pics out of good taste

Kept them for myself

Participant– Choral beginning of “Appreciation” – Spidey 2

– When the M:I theme kicks in during Zoom B (and the lead up to it) – Mission: Impossible
– Grand Finale – Edward ScissorhandsThat’s all I can think of off the top of my head.
Untamed Aggression
Participantso has he actually recorded a full score that’s been rejected or did he only partially score it?
I just saw some pics from soundtrack.net from the scoring session so I’m quite confused.
Gotta say, I recently rewatched South Park: BLU and the score is awesome. Shame it wasn’t on the CD instead of the turdy rap versions of the films showtunes.
